Uggh I can't believe I am doing this because I avoid serious political, financial and religious conversations, but having said that, this topic sends me over the top. This sounds harsh, but employees are assets to a company due to the fact they generate value and revenue. By the statement above everyone brings the same value and generates the same revenue. This is not true. An unskilled uneducated worker does not bring as much value or revenue. They perform a "task".  It is simple, if you can't live on minimum wage, improve your skills and education. If you truly believe that everyone brings the same value, and believe the government should regulate that maybe you should check out how well it works in Russia. It is basic business principles just as
@hollyhobby &
@burnsway stated above. I am exhausted by the thought of supporting and financing more people because they "should have" the same even if they do not do the same amount of work for it. If your goal is to only earn a "living wage" define what that is? Does that mean car, home ownership, cell phone? Every person defines living wage differently. Is cable,. internet and cell phone included in your living wage? To me living wage means bare minimum basics to survive. If you want more than that, you should improve your skills, education and get off your lazy a** because I work more than 40 hours a week, I paid for my education on my own, and I took risks and sacrificed to obtain my goals. 4951
