Has anyone noticed a problem with being able to see the red light at Kingwood Dr and Chestnut Ridge when driving East on KW Dr?
There was a serious accident at this intersection last week, and tonight, we came closer to a serious accident than I have ever been.
We stopped at the red light headed north on Chestnut Ridge. We then got a green light. Upon getting the green light myself and the car adjacent to me started across the intersection.
A little more than half way across the intersection, a white car spead in front of us at much greater than 40 MPH. Luckily, we were both able to slam on our breaks and avoid a serious and possibly deadly situation.
After recovery from a moment of anger and calming down, I started wondering if there is a reason behind this...possibly something is wrong with the light??
I find it hard to believe anyone would run this light at peak traffic times (5:30 PM), driving such speeds. If the car had hit us, there would surely have been a fatality. Car next to me was a van and I was driving my new Ram Truck.
PS: I did happen to have the dash cam running. The car was going so fast that I have to stop the replay to even tell it's a car and even then the model is not evident.
Please exercise caution at this intersection. 4951
