Go back in time to when I was small the world was a fabulous place. When Mom & Dad were like giants and they could do absolutely anything. When my sisters and little brother and I went camping with our parents and it was so much fun. 4951

I know is it is amazing how when you're a kid you can't wait to be a grown-up. And then when you're finally a grown-up. You wish you were a kid again. No bills, no responsibility, no worries. I always tell that to kids these days when they tell me they can't wait to be grown up. Enjoy being a kid while you can. Because one day you will be grown up and more than likely want to be a kid again. 4951

"And then when you're finally a grown-up. You wish you were a kid again."I don't think all grown ups wish they were kids again.  Some don't even wish it for a second out of a year. 4951

I liked helping Mom or Dad when I was small, and even had chores as a four year old. Love that I thought my parents could do anything. My mom made clothes, toys, and food. Dad could make or fix anything, he built the swing set, stilts, rabbit hutches, put in the garden made the grapes grow where he wanted,  built our sand box, put in the fruit trees and huckle berry bush. He put the pool in the ground. Fixed cars, made a Flinstone's car for Hubby's family and helped build their tree house. I'm lucky, I had great parents, and they did their best for all their kids, and my aunt's kids too. 4951

I realize not everyone has a great childhood, and I'm sorry if I brought up bad memories for anyone else. 4951

I had a great childhood - but I never wish to go back.  I much prefer adulthood and having the autonomy to make my own decisions. 4951

Daddy paid for EVERYTHING. I didn't have a care in the world, except being sad when my afternoon cartoons were over. 4951

We were raised to make our own decisions and live with the consequences. So I guess I feel like I've been making my own choices for a very long time. Emoticon 4951

@deltadawn:
When i was little i had a great time. My dad was just a big ole kid that would wake us up in the middle of the night to have races in the front yard or to take a quick trip camping to new braunfels..astroworld almost every weekend..lake travis..
I didnt realize till i got older that he was a drunk and those were not rational things to do..and that itvwould eventually lead to years of him suffering as well as everyone around him until he passed a year and a half ago.

@BooBear: This is true. There also a reason I chose the age of 4 rather than say 7, or 12, etc.

@JeepHair: I'll compromise. I'd like to go back to being a college kid again. When the biggest issue of the day was where the next party was and whether or not it was BYOB.
