Certainly appears the RNC followers are toting the line on any new ideas that are not following the old school regiment.A Ted Cruz nomination would be ‘cataclysmic’ for the GOPIf he’s the nominee, we’re going to have wholesale losses in Congress and state offices and governors and legislatures.I don’t know how he’s going to deal with Congress. Nobody likes him.I think [Jeb’s] the most qualified and we need somebody with experience.said Bob DoleJohn McCain said questions regarding Cruz’s eligibility for the presidency given his Canadian birth — an issue Trump has raised on the trail — were legitimate.Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, a Republican, urged Iowa caucus-goers not to vote for the Texas senator.It would be a big mistake for Iowa to support him, Branstad said.  4951

The establishment doesn't want to lose their power - the old folks need to fade away and make way for younger, fresher ideas and a new way to lead.Heck if they want to vote for old white people then go vote Democrat this time.

@Stealth83:

Agree. They want business as usual. Makes me like Cruz a little more. 4951

Cruz was born a non-citizen and obtained US Citizenship after being Naturalized. If you have to be naturalized you are not natural born. He should not be allowed to run.  4951

@beastmode:

Wasn't his mother a U.S. citizen? I thought that automatically made him a U.S. citizen and also eligible to be president. 4951

My Dd sat in on a Constitutional Law class at a top 50 law school this week.  The professor was Harvard educated.  He talked about this very subject (Ted Cruz eligibility to run).  He was of the thought that the SCOTUS wouldn't hear the case and him and every expert on Constitutional Law that he knows thinks that Cruz is eligible to run.  4951

Looking at the two fields of candidates I find it amusing

@Stealth83: What is amusing is the fact that they all think voters are too stupid to see beyond the BS they spout in every election year. At this point I'm fairly convinced that rational voters are trying to determine who would do the least amount of damage.

@Stealth83: LOL Exactly. I'm 100% fed up with these people who stay in Congress for DECADES. There is no reason why someone should continue being a Senator for 25, 30, 35, 40 years. Ridiculous. Never any new, fresh perspectives and when someone comes along like Cruz, and shakes things up a bit, they all band together like a flock of vultures and tear them apart any way they can.

@uneasyrider:

As a whole, the voters are too stupid to see beyond the BS they spout every election year. They are so damned stupid that they will vote for whomever the national TV stations tell them to vote for.

I'm willing to be that 75% of our citizens don't know who are VP is, nor do they know when the next presidential election will take place.

All they know is what others tell them...and the news tells them how to vote. THEY control this country, not our government or its citizens.

@beastmode: Not exactly how it is worded. Also the term "natural Born" has not been defined within the legal system.
The U.S. Constitution uses but does not define the phrase "natural born Citizen", and various opinions have been offered over time regarding its precise meaning. The consensus of early 21st-century constitutional scholars, together with relevant case law, is that natural-born citizens include, subject to exceptions, those born in the United States. For those born elsewhere, there is an emerging consensus that they are also natural born citizens provided they meet the legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at the moment of birth", but the matter remains unsettled. 4951

@Jpgurl: Lets face it , they either feel like they should be next in line or they see a political climate that gives them the best chance to get in.

He likely will be allowed to run but this should have been cleaned up after the last fiasco. Define the term and also present an official copy of a BC. Sick of this nonsense. And, if you went to college, you have to provide that as well. You don't need a degree to run but if you have one I'm not voting for someone with C&D's that's for sure like Bush and flunked out DUI Cheney. Talk about vetting Muslims and we can't even vet the credentials of our own President. Really Stupid.    4951
