I volunteered at work to put a gift basket together for my co-worker that is having a baby. Does anyone have any tip on putting it together? She already had her baby shower so I was trying to think of things new mom's are always missing after the baby shower. There is one thing I would love to get her. She works at Verizon and so does her boyfriend (dad). I would love to find something for a baby that has to do with Verizon. I can't find anything anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. She has been at that store for over 10 years and is a very big part of our team so I would like to make something very nice. 4951

Not sure about the Verizon thing but the Aiden And Anais swaddling blankets are a must have for a new mom.  Maybe look for a squeaky or rattling cell phone toy?   4951

They always need diapers and wipes.  Also gift cards so they can go buy diapers and wipes.  You can always buy Dreft soap that everyone washes new baby clothes in, burp cloths maybe some Johnson bathing or lotions. 4951

You can't ever have too many Target gift cards, wipes and diapers. There are likely a ton of newborn and 0-6 month sizes things, so maybe focus on 6-9 month everyday items, like socks, practical onesies, etc. Also, things not thought of until they are needed like Baby Tylenol, diaper ointment, baby Benedryl, teething gel, etc.

Also think about grocery store gift cards, since many of the big chains had big baby departments.

Maybe include a little something for mom and dad like salon gift certificates so they can get a hair cut, a massage, pedicure, or restaurant GCs to give them a break. Starbucks would be a good one.

You will likely not find any Verizon logo items, since babies are just not their target niche. You might want to pass on that and focus on practical needed baby items instead. 4951

A theme is always fun. You could do a diapering basket, or bath time. I think anything related to helping keeping baby healthy is often overlooked and very appreciated when the need arises. These are some of my daughter-in-laws favorite things that she would have never thought of:A digital ear thermometer like the  Braun Thermoscan5 Ear themometerPacifier Liquid Medicine Dispenser www.amazon.com/Pacid ose-Pacifier-Liquid- Medicine-Dispenser/d p/B00HAN29QI/re Snotsucker Nasal Aspiratorhttp://www.amazon.com/NoseFrida-The-Snotsucker-Nasal-Aspirator/dp/B00171WXII/ref=sr_1_3?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1453349330&sr=1-3&keywords=suction+nose 4951

I'm assuming with a basket, you want lots of small items. So here are some more ideas.
Mylicon gas drops
Gripe water
Babyganics hand sanitizer
Boogie wipes
Safety nail clippers
If mom is nursing, some mothers milk tea.
extra bottles, bottle liners, bottle brush
Receiving blankets, you can never have too many

As far as the Verizon thing goes, I don't know how long you have, but Walgreens can print a photo on many things. Maybe if you treat the logo as a photo, you could have it printed on a onsie or a bottle or a small diaper bag. I think the turnaround time is fairly quick.

Good luck! And congrats to your coworkers. 4951

@Mahm: That's a great idea! I was completely unaware of that service. Bottles, onesies etc. would be great!

I also recommend a medicine tub. New mom's don't typically realize how quickly they will need gas drops and saline drops. The nosefrieda is a must.

I would avoid buying bottles because a lot of times the mom will try a couple different kind to see what works best for her and baby. Same thing with diapers and wipes. 4951

Yes! The nosefrieda! I bought mine on Amazon. Is it available in stores? 4951

@taramay: Thank yall so much. I found some great out of the box ideas. I was thinking about the medicine tub. What are some things to go in it? I don't have any kids so I'm not familiar with this. I thought it would be a great learning experience for my husband and myself.
I keep running into the nosefrieda but it just sounds too gross. All the reviews are amazing but... 4951

You can make a onesie with the version logo using freezer paper stencils. Google how to do it for full instructions or you can find someone with a cricut or silhouette to make you personalized onesies with Verizon stuff on them- or even put a Verizon logo on a stuffed animal from the dollar store with heat press vinyl, just to decorate the basket. 4951
