Now that the cabinet doors are done and the lawn is mowed I hope to spend some time working on my main desktop computer. It's still running pretty well but I have 2 upgrades to make that should speed it up a good bit. First I am switching out the video card. My son who is always changing things on his machine had a video card he didn't need anymore. He does on line gaming so he's always going with newer stuff and he gave me a very nice Geforce GTX 760 which is a dual monitor board and quite a nice upgrade from the one that came with my machine. Second upgrade is to swap out my main C hard drive with a new solid state one. I opted for the 500GB Crucial top of their line model. My current drive is a 1TB Western Digital Red model but I moved all my libraries over to my D drive some time ago and mainly use the C drive for the OS and other programs and only have about 300GB on it now and don't foresee adding much more. To upgrade to the 1TB solid state just seemed overkill especially as they are still over $350. This upgrade should really help with my boot up time which can take a while as programs initialize and in running Adobe editing programs. Also a good time to clean out dust on fans and the mother board, etc. Well, wish me luck! 4951
