The preschool where my daughter goes is offering a parents night out on Valentines. So I think we will take them up on it. Not sure where to go, thinking somewhere that isn't well known to avoid some big crowds. Like maybe even the Korean or Indian restaurant younguys have been talking about.
Any other suggestions?

I'm sure most places will be crowded that night so just make sure to make reservations ahead of time wherever you end up.  Enjoy your night out Emoticon 4951

It's my birthday and I'd like to get more than my money's worth of bottomless champagne at Raffas brunch, but I bet all you romantics will make it too crowded to enjoy. Emoticon 4951

@foxymama:  Looks like you at least checked it out.  Bold move. That would definitely be different than dinner and a movie. Amedeo's has a special Valentine's dinner (see below):

A nice meal at home and snuggle time.
No silly flowers candy and cards. All a waste of money.
We don't even go or try to go as traffic is crazy and then everyone is drinking and rushing like rats.
Definitely make a reservation to go anywhere and get there early. 4951

Valentines and Mothers Days are the absolute worst time to go to a restaurant. Every rube is out and about those days and the reataurants overcharge and under deliver. 4951

I was thinking a nice quiet night in would be great.Either a bottle of wine, cozy blankets, fireplace raging, and chilling on the couch with a movie,(OR) a bottle of wine, sitting out back on the patio with the fire pit going and cool tunes playing would be good.  Either way, a bottle of wine and a fire will be happening.  Instead of going out, sometimes wine and leisurely eating tappas are more enjoyable than a full meal. 4951

@donnatella:
I agree. Tapas are a great idea. A big meal is too heavy for the after dinner activities. 4951

I don't want to cook or do dishes though.  So maybe take out and wine at home.   4951

@ET: Very True @ET.  I worked in restaurants all thru college and some after and those  two days they would always jack up the prices and then want to rush you so they could turn the table faster.  If I am gonna pay a good deal of money for a nice meal, I don't want to be rushed.  Obviously I am not going to put up my tent and camp for 3 hours, but I want to be able to leisurely enjoy each course before the next one comes.  For that reason we stay in on those days but go out and celebrate the week before or after.
