I have a few things listed in CL that are over $200 so it naturally attracts your common scams, which is super annoying. "I like the condition of your item...bank check...agent..." Um, nope. Other than that, I can't stand the question (prior to even coming to see the item. "What's the lowest you will take?" Seriously? You want me to bid against myself? I usually answer that with $20 higher than the list price. Also can't stand people who say they are going to show up at a certain time then arrive an hour plus later, no call or heads up, without the right amount of money and trying to barter. I usually increase the price on them too. Lol. People are so rude sometimes. What's yalls gripes? 4951

Maybe you should consider selling on eBay. That way they can bid and purchase without having to bother with the silly questions or people coming to see things. 4951

Good thought, but one thing is a furniture set so I can't ship it and the other is a piece of machinery so again no shipping. I guess I could list it as local pick up only though... 4951

Have you tried local consignment shops? Since it's difficult to load them and carry them around, maybe try taking pictures around until you find one to accept them.. 4951

I put a camper on CL and had all kinds of offers for way less but they made sure to mention it was a CASH offer. I'm thinking - well obviously it's going to have to be cash. I'm not a bank - there is no special financing offer. Thankfully I also put it in the KDC classifieds and ended up selling it to someone here in Kingwood who offered near full price. I've also sold a dining room set on KDC. Both were gone within days. 4951

Selling stuff is hard. Nobody wants to pay. I think society is of the mindset of, "give me free stuff," just because. 4951

I know what you mean. I was selling some tires on offerup and had someone ask " what was the lowest you will take." I countered with what is the highest you will pay. Lol. Didnt hear back from them. SMH 4951

Some stuff is indeed listed too high for the condition, I will agree. But some stuff holds value. Solid wood furniture for instance. Cars and stuff definitely not. I have some heavy duty machines we will be selling in the near future, like takes up a room big, and they loose very little value because they are so specific to purpose. You have to know what you are looking at when buying and selling that is for sure. But asking what is the lowest someone will take or bartering prior to even seeing some just kills me. 4951

I tried selling some clothes on here recently and just gave up after no shows, people changing their mind and then this website not notified me via email.  I ended up giving a huge laundry basket full of girls 2t and 3t clothes plus  all my daughters toddler toys to my neighbor who has a one year old girl.  When she came to pick everything up she said OMG this a whole toy store.  She was very very appreciative and I got room in my garage now and my daughters closet.  I figure by the time I calculate my time uploading photos , screening emails, and waiting for no -shows It doesn't really pay for things like clothes and toys. Now big items like her crib and very expensive mattress we sold.  As well as my barely used breast pump, baby swing and a couple other baby items.  And I sold a couple of bikes as well.  I guess it really depends on who is shopping at the time you are selling.  I sold some big baby items at the United Methodist Baby Daze sale too.  That I really liked.  You just label everything and drop it off.  Then you get a check in the mail a month later.  Yes, you give them some of your profit but you don't have to deal with no shows or uploading photos, etc.  4951

I have never sold anything online, but my friend and I had a garage sale last year.  Among other things I was selling a solid wood dresser.  This woman showed up and wanted to give me like $20 and throw in all this other stuff.  To top it off, she expected us to DELIVER it to her home!  WTH I am not Gallery Furniture.  SMH  4951

Meh...I agree, people asking asinine prices. I pretty much gave up on it. I wanted a Kitchen AId Mixer, used since they never die. Lady wanted more that a new one. GTFO. I even explained it to her, you are asking more than a new one. Did not care. Ok, whatever....ended up getting it at Sams, on sale. It also had a $50 rebate. I have yet to see a cheaper price for it in stores or online. I win. 4951
