I will be very surprised if this doesn't happen. Plenty of blame to go around today and it looks like more change is needed to get the Texans further than a wildcard game ***-whooping. 4951

They only need to keep Watt, Hopkins, Cushing, Jackson. Fire the rest including coaches, GM, and players. 4951

I am not a fan of O'Brien, but he did win the division and make the playoffs with 4 different starting quarterbacks.

They need to draft a franchise QB, but if there's not a franchise guy out there, don't waste a pick.

So many holes to fill. A franchise RB is a priority too. If that franchise QB isn't there, get the RB. A solid #2 WR is priority #3.

We'll see what happens. I bet they keep O'Brien at least another year. Smith is the question mark.

Don't think he was a good choice from the beginning. His statement "it was not very good" last night... Really, and the first clue was? 4951

We need to bring a good quarterback like Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck who are not popular in Denver or Indianapolis.  cant win games with JJ Watts, defense only.  Lets get serious about it; cant be changing quarterbacks every single game Emoticon 4951

@tatertot58: How about when he was being interviewed after the game... He was asked if he had considered taking Hoyer out. He replied that he wanted to stick with the game plan... REALLY??? Was there an actual "game plan?"

That was a sad  and such an embarrassing game. I am still in shock but knew we didn't belong there with the loser Hoyer at the helm. The locals are calling for the heads of hoyer ,coach ,and gm. We will see what happens in the off season and hope we get a decent qb and running back soon. 4951

@klp1972: I'm thinking if the plan is not working it should be changed. Someone on TV this morning said Hoyer should be the Chiefs MVP for the game... 😝

I'd love for the Texans to draft a franchise QB, but which QB out there is a franchise guy waiting to be drafted...and available late in round 1? Carson Wentz, perhaps?

I pray they don't get Payton Manning. I'm guessing they go after Johnny Manziel or RGIII. I think both will end up out of the league within 2 years if that happens.

@jax:
We pick 22nd and projections are that Connor Cook will be there.  McCarron has had a good showing stepping in for Dalton so I wouldn't be surprised if Cincy cashed in while there's value and moved him.  Neither Manziel or RGIII fit into O'Brien's offense.  He needs a drop-back pocket passer like Cook or McCarron.  If he wanted a scrambler he'd have just kept Fitz and Keenum.  I doubt Manning will go anywhere but to the house.  He got Favre's record and he's not at a point in his career where he's willing to build a team.  I sort of suspect that if he can't step right in and walk into another superbowl, he'll just sit at home and sell pizzas.  4951

@jax: Manning is on his way out, and seems like he is being informally groomed for coaching. He would be an excellent coach, but is just no longer the superstar player material he was. Texans need a young superstar, not one in the twilight of his career that keeps getting hurt. 4951

McCarron would be an awful choice...just awful. But, the Texans love backups, so I can see it happening.

Connor Cook is a good QB, but not a franchise guy. Of course, they said that about Tom Brady too. It is all about timing, maturity and coachung, so we'll see if it happens.
