I disagree. A bike or scooter are both locked up outside and therefore not a distraction in school. Not sure school policy on skateboards.

Well why don't you enlighten me on what parents would.
And my kids told me lots of kids ride their skateboards to school. Some of the teachers even let them keep the skateboard in their classrooms

Not sure why you are so defensive? I see them as a toy and toys don't belong in school. That have also been shown to be unsafe. And lastly, they are expensive and a "hot" item. Why send your kid to school with something that is likely to be targeted for theft? Does not seem wise in my opinion. But feel free to send one with your kids if you would like. I just don't see it as appropriate.
