So I work with this rude girl. She likes to take jabs at people over and over again and doesn't get that it is rude and hurtful. She has to always be right when she's wrong and just has an attitude that she is better than everyone. It's really obnoxious and embarrassing at times. So any advice to deal with her? She doesn't like people to stand up to her. I just ignore her usually but then she really gets under my skin... Help! 4951

Ask her if she realizes just how big of a ***** she really is. She just may not know. 4951

I say confront her on it. If she doesn't like it, maybe it will force her to stop. As a last resort you can go to HR. 4951

I would never actually do that, i HATE confrontation but i would think it. I also would just not let her behavior determine mine. Say what you have to say only. 4951

Bullies thrive on people keeping quiet. Be an equally strong personality and call her on her bull$#it. Call her out each time she belittles or jabs at you or someone else who will not stand up to her. Sunlight is the best disinfectant for bullying behavior. If she keeps running into a strong wall, she will either stop or move on elsewhere. 4951

Either stand your ground and start calling her out on it, or make it your life's mission to be her BFF (kill her with kindness). I know someone that acts pretty similar to her. One time she was walking around like her s*** didn't stink and was obviously wanting people to compliment her on her outfit. Well, i decided to do just that. I went up to her and just completely gushed over how cute her blouse was, and then finished it off by asking where she got it at because I had one just like it once that I found in a thrift store and accidently shrunk it. Emoticon Don't get me wrong, I personally love thrift stores, but she absolutely looks down on them, so I just couldn't resist. I guess I have a bit of a mean streak sometimes. Oh well. Seriously though, in your case, you just have to do whatever you feel is gonna make your work environment the best for you, whether that's ignoring her, calling her out, or killing her with kindness. As a last resort, you can always have a group intervention and get HR involved, if things are really bad. 4951

I have called her out on it and even went above her as far as going to our boss. When she was spoken to by our boss she really let loose on me. I do just kill her with kindness as much as I can . Other people see how she is and her demeanor. But she's also one of those people who will sweet talk anyone to get her way. She is a nice person but just needs to get her head out of her *** and learn she is not God. It will all come back on her eventually. I just do my job and let her look like an idiot when she does. She sent a text trying to insult me for a small mistake I made and I just ignored it.

Unfortunately, it sounds like just ignoring it and letting karma get her is gonna be your best bet, then. I am sorry you have to deal with her. At least you are showing you are the bigger, better person which only helps you in the long run. 4951

People don't seem to know who to interact and be pleasant anymore.  I don't get it, why be so rude, mean and on a terror all the time... 4951
