This is way cool and we are definitely looking into it. We are both LSC students and take classes here and there. Last one was a birthday present.
But this rocks. No matter what we'll finish our lease out so will be around a bit this year. Might as well learn something while we're here.

I've been attending these classes for 4 years now....best bargain you can get - $20 tuition for entire year, whether you take 1 class or 75......you meet some interesting people - you have intelligent discussions with smart people, the lecturers are quite good, and it gives retired folk something to do.  If you join the "Kingwood" campus, most of the classes are held in the EMCID Administration Building in New Caney - very nice, comfortable, safe facility.  Great range of subjects offered - love it. 4951

Thanks. Great to hear a review. I wish I'd known before. My dh keeps telling me if I want to go back to school to do it. I always worry about the cost. Lol we're still paying his student loans. This however is up my alley. Just wish you got credits. 4951

@beadweaver: oh no, this isn't like "traditional" classes.....more like "lectures" or presentations and usually only 1-2 hour sessions, not on a regular like M-W-F schedule......just held on 1 day usually.....as in "continuing education" classes, no college credits involved.....just personal growth and interaction with some smart and interesting people -

Do you know if the instructors make much money? I have a class I've been wanting to teach, but it's going to take time to develop. 4951

I believe all the instructors are "volunteers", not paid....but actually that makes it all the better as everyone is there because they want to be and they love it....and Burnsway, I'm pretty sure you have to be "over 55" to join.......(hey you young whippersnapper - leave some of the good stuff for us old folk.....!  hahaha)hope everybody is having a pleasant, peaceful, enjoyable Christmas Day with family 4951
