Ok so I'm still the newby at this Firm downtown but this place is strange! I'm sitting in my office watching a bunch of "co-workes" go by carrying crock pot items and all kinds of food. My boss walks by too... No invite, no idea what is going on. So I asked another lady what was going on and she said that AP was having a get together... So one part of our department is having a lunch???? Not the rest of us??? The firm I came from was very different! The whole Finance group had a luncheon.. .not just one part of the group. Anyone else find this odd? And NOT TO MENTION... I'm starving and the food looked good. LOL 4951

Consider it a blessing not being invited, I don't do potluck.

No it's not odd, at my job there are four different groups that report to our controller and we all do separate luncheons.

@bubbleyes72 - love me some crock pot! lol Well that's good to know because I was really caught off guard. The firm I came from was much smaller and it's taking me some time to get used to things here. It's 3x the size. 4951

@Bearfin:

Oh I like crock pot too, just not others because I don't know what's in it. Depends on who cooks it, and by the way some of the women keep our restroom at work there is no way I would eat anything they bring. JMO Emoticon 4951

Start your own group lunch. Maybe invite them to yours or sell the sizzle of consolidating them. That right there could build some real comradery. Leaders lead the way. 4951

I don't eat stranger's food or people's food if I've never been to their home. Been to some homes I wouldn't use the pot. Ain't that a crock?
Besides not everyone is a good cook. At work ya gotta fake it. I'm not about fak'n it. Ask the girl that served me goat. 4951

@deltadawn:  Rabbit is also great.  We didn't raise them, but there were plenty of cottontails on my parents property.  My dad and I made box traps to catch them.  My dad would buy a calf that had been weaned and we would feed and let it graze until it was big enough to butcher.  He also raised a bunch of ducks.  He preferred ducks over chickens.  My dad would also buy a pig occasionally to butcher.  He was not a butcher by trade, but when he was growing up, there were several uncles and cousins who were butchers and taught him how.  There was a huge oak tree behind his parents house and they anchored an iron ring into it about 9 feet off the ground.  Whenever anyone had a cow or pig to butcher, they used that ring to hang the carcass from.  All the neighbors helped out and they would get some of the meat for their help.   That old oak tree died and by the time I thought about that iron ring, someone had already gotten it.

@beadweaver:

Me and you are on the same page. If I visit your home and the floors, kitchen, and restroom is nasty you can bet for sure I'm not eating your cooking. I have one relative I don't eat nothing at their home or anything they bring to a family gathering (his wife is not clean). The last thing I want to be sick of is food poisoning, it's the worst. 4951
