I can cook but I am not a baker. I've even tried store bought dough. I have to make 5 dozen cookies for an exchange for work on Thursday. I found a recipe for peanut butter no bake cookies and did a test run tonight. They taste good, but look like poop. I mean it they look like little piles of poop! The kids loved them, but they call them poop cookies. I can't serve people cookies that look like poop. Man I really miss the old style bakery. HEB & Randall's don't have the homemade look/ taste cookies. Instead of searching for another recipe I am searching for a bakery or a baker. 4951

Buy some of those little brownie bites that come in the plastic container at HEB. They are on the tables by the bakery. Get a can of white frosting and top them with a little dollop and sprinkle them with crushed peppermint bits. (they sell the crushed peppermint at HEB too. I picked a bag up by the cooking demonstration booth) 4951

Here's what you do -- and you'll thank me later.

Buy a bag of tiny pretzels, a bag of Rolo candies, and pecan halves. Lay a bunch of the pretzels on a baking sheet and place an unwrapped Rolo on top of each pretzel. Place in a 350 degree oven for 3-5 minutes. Remove from oven and gently press a pecan half over each Rolo. Allow to cool and try to not eat them all before your cookie exchange!

I actually love those no bake cookies. Yours have more of a cookie shape than what I'm used to. They are usually more stacked up.

I'll come to your house on Tuesday or Wednesday to bake cookies if it pays well. Emoticon 4951

Slice and bake peanut butter cookies, chocolate covered pretzels (in the snack department) and brown & red mini M&Ms. Form
dough into 1-inch balls. To make reindeer-shaped cookies, pinch the
bottom of the ball slightly to form a point, then gently flatten with
your hand. Space cookies about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet
and bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until set or just beginning to brown.
Remove from oven and immediately (and gently) press
two mini pretzels into the tops of the cookies for the reindeer's
antlers. Press two mini brown M&Ms in for the eyes and one red
M&M for the nose (or any other color... ). 4951

@soxmom you are highly over estimating my skill level. Some how those cute reindeers would look like road kill if I made them. I chose no bakes because I either over cook or under cook every cookie I've attempted. I don't get it. I follow instructions but they always turn out bad. This is stressing me out. I can cook for 50. +/- people and no issues. I destroy cakes, brownies, & pies. 4951

@mahm I've got two teenage girls ! Problem is I work during the day. If I can't buy any this weekend, I will take you up on the offer if you are free in the evening. I will supply babysitting, dinner, drinks of your choice and $40. Just a warning, I think my kitchen is possesed and destroys baked goods Emoticon 4951

@landlady: ha!  Well I am usually overly ambitious and that's not always a good thing either. I have been known to get in over my head and be up at midnight stressing over a cooking project. Go to the Walmart grocery store. They sell (in their bakery) mini pecan tassies in a tub. I have made them from scratch before and they are a hit but this year for Thanksgiving I had too much to do so I took a chance on the ones at walmart. Everyone loved them.  (and I never confessed that I didn't make them from scratch..they didn't know the difference, lol!)
