Today I ask the opposite of the question posed yesterday. For me the best present I ever got was from my first wife when our 5 kids were between the ages of about 3 and 10. She found a little journal book with blank pages, the kind you write your thoughts in. She had each of our children tell why the loved me or to thank me for something, there were 4 or 5 random entries from each child. The older kids wrote their own thoughts and she took dictation from the younger ones. Some of the kids drew illustrations to go along with their thoughts. Some of the stuff was pretty funny, the youngest said he loved me because I taught him to poop in the potty like a big boy. The others thanked me for taking them hunting or going camping or Scouts or helping with homework. My oldest said I taught him respect and to be a good citizen. One said I cooked good food. They are all adults now with kids of their own. I keep that book in the drawer by my nightstand, makes good reading when I've had a stressful day. 4951

My ex husband was supposed to deploy before Christmas but it got delay until Jan 2.  We had just married and were still in that "honeymoon" stage so we were over the moon when we learned that he could stay longer. 4951

A bike when I was about 10.  I had wanted this bike for the better part of the whole year.  It was a grown up racing bike, so I was thrilled.We had a white Christmas that year, so it was a week until I could take it outside and ride it.   4951

@RogueHippEE:
Unfortunately yes. Had my daughter when I was 23 and needed the $20k. I've built others since then, but I'm trying to track that one down.
