Your Suddenlink signal depends on where you live.  Some areas have a strong signal and others don't.  The same for CenturyLink.  i used to have CenturyLink but got tired of the slowdowns and stoppages. I pay for 75 Mbps with Suddenlink and every time I speed check it, it runs at 108 Mbps.  I went over my data "allotment" last month with just a warning.  If I go over again, there is a small fee.I have both kids living at home until the summer, so I suspect we'll exceed our allotment each month. 4951

I have nothing but praise for Suddenlink: perfect cable reception and lightening fast internet. Never a down minute. 4951

Waiting for Suddenlink rep to blast this thread as usual just like they do my mailbox every single week. Agree though, depends where you are located. If you are near their relay likely have great speed and service. Farther away service is downgraded. I have Centurylink since Nov. No issues but most they offer in my area is slightly over 8Mbps. Not bad for a couple of people but for a family likely won't work out so good. We are paying about $42 a month total with fees and tax. Pretty good deal and better than my ClearWire  which was $45 for less than 2Mbps but, it was super reliable, it would never go down and I could take it anywhere.      4951

Just upgraded my service with Suddenlink last month... $89 bucks a month for 200 mbps.  I speed tested it and it holds steady above 190 with 3 TVs streaming Netflix in HD at the same time.  Invest in a good quality router and modem.  If you still don't have a signal, have them test it.  You may need to replace the coax.  My gripe with them is the damn data caps... 4951

@sooner34: indeed...but then again you can afford a nicer phone and car when someone else is paying for it.

We had Suddenlink and they dropped every single day. Swtiched to Centurylink a couple of years ago. Never dropped for a few months and now randomly drops the first time we log on some days. It very much depends on where you live. There are no good options in my opinion out here.  4951

@Cornellbalker:  How did you qualify for SSDI? You are too young to have contributed much to SS.  Just another example of the government giving away money that people put into the system.
