My DD is almost 11 and has never really vomited before.  Waiting for Dr to open.  All she had this morning was some water and started vomiting again.  Anything I can give her in the meantime?  I know I sound like an idiot but we never dealt with this before.  I hate to see my baby sick.  TIA 4951

They usually tell you not to give anything until the throwing up as stopped for awhile.  Depending on when you can get her in, I would wait. 4951

If she really wants something and you are worried, they have pedialyte popsicles-just make sure not to give her red ones. 4951

I wouldn't give her anything until you see the dr. Agree with @RogueHippEE on the Pedialyte popsicles, but if she's vomiting I doubt she's going to want anything. Avoid milk and milk products. Maybe the b.r.a.t. diet once she quits throwing up everything. So sorry your DD is feeling bad... 4951

@yankeejessica: Thank you.  I just found that on google.  Do they give them anything to make it stop?  She started at 3am Saturday into Sunday until 5am then it stopped.  Had some crackers and water yesterday and that's it but I knew when I woke her today she didn't feel good and all she had was water and it started again.

@dotti573: My dd is a big puker(or used to be).  The doctor might give her Zofran to help.

It sounds like one of those generic viruses that kids get. Used to happen with The Boy out of the blue. Could commit all night, be a bit weak in the morning and bounce back by noon.

Liquid diet until that can be kept down, then try toast, then gently introduce potatoes, rice, etc., but don't rush the additions of other food.

Gatorade, ginger ale, pedialyte, etc. -- fluids fluids fluids. It's very easy to dehydrate being that sick. Aching muscles all over are early signs of dehydration. 4951

@RogueHippEE: I hope they give her something because she is like me.  If I puke I cry and it makes it worse.  Thanks for all the advise everyone.

Ginger is a natural antiemetic (anti vomit).
Real ginger ale works well, but not until she hasnt vomited for 30 min. 4951

My kids would constantly catch stomach viruses from school all the time.
I would get a bucket (I used an old popcorn bucket) and put like 5 walmart bags over it (try to use the bags that don't have rips) and they would have those buckets next to them at all times incase they needed to puke. Then I would just tie a knot and the next bag would be ready.
SometimeS they are to weak to run to the restroom.
Make sure both of you are constantly washing yalls hands and lysol all door handles and restrooms.
If it is a stomach bug it will get passed down to others in the home so try your best to lysol everything down.

Sometimes I would catch it but I wouldn't throw up I would have diarhea.

Good luck. HANG IN THERE. sometimes you just have to let it pass your system it could be 24 to 36 hrs. Keep hydrated.... 4951

Well it is a stomach virus.  Vomited 3 more times before the doc opened at 8.  They gave her Zofran and had me buy Emetrol if it continues.  Clear diet then B.R.A.T. if she can tolerate it.  No school for 2 days so say a prayer for us please because I don't get paid if I'm not at work.  TIA for all the info, help and prayers. 4951

Oh @dotti573, so sorry she is so sick!I am sending some prayers your way.I always give my boys ginger ale, or coke after throwing up.  Both seem to settle their stomachs.  And saltine crackers.Small sips, and small nibbles then wait awhile to see if they can hold this down.

@Fallon: I got Ginger Ale and saltines on the way home.  Thanks for the prayers.  I appreciate it.  She doesn't want to have anything right now.  Won't take a drink or anything at this point and her poor lips are so chapped.  Got her some chapstick while we were at the store.  Also got some pedialyte pops.  Waiting for them to freeze now.  She did take some ice chips at least.
