Less than raw is good for my DH... and anything above medium rare is ruined in my book! 4951

When I grew up there would be another category... I called it carbonized...  Crunchy black that had to be drowned in ketchup.  I have since learned... 4951

@tatertot58: I used to love it "done done burnt" with crunchy ends. Now, in I like it between medium and medium well. Just a little pink. 4951

I wonder if the whole "well done" thing was an older generations thing.Back in the early 1900's meat was not near as "safe" as it is today.They learned to cook the crap out of it so it was always "safe".My grandparents (both sides) and my mom always made it to shoe leather.Dad like it more Medium, but usually ordered a steak to medium well to appease mom.I tried ordering one once when mom and dad took us to a cheap steak place, I said I want to try medium rare. Mom over rode that to medium well, said it was not "safe" 4951
