When we moved here in 1993, they were still developing this part (eastern) of Greentree Village. We often saw dozens of squirrels, rabbits, deer, and raccoon. As more and more area was cleared, we saw fewer and fewer animals.
@Retired_Engineer: Our house is next to 18 acres of woods. We see all kinds of wildlife, some - like snakes, or the occasional meth head that likes to hang out in the woods - not so great, but I enjoy all the birds, raccoon's, deer etc. We have a bunny rabbit that would come right up to our yard for his evening feast and one morning my husband went out and saw a fox standing at the end of our driveway. I know that one day the property owner is going to sell out to the highest bidder and all the wildlife will disappear, but for now, at least, I can enjoy my surroundings. Well, except maybe the meth dude - he's kinda creepy!
