I need to go for a check up.  My doctor moved to Conroe, so I don't want to drive all that way.  I HATE going to the doctor, so I'm looking for someone that will make me feel more at ease.  I would prefer a female.  Any recommendations? 4951

Kingwood family practice. I see Stephanie pierce (gross )

Edit to add; stay away from carver/Johnson her office is terrible. 4 months and still waiting on them to call me about test results ( I got em in from quest and know there is issues). I'm not chasing Drs. I will just switch 4951

@angiekaye: How odd, I've never had a problem with them, and love Dr. Cavnar-Johnson. Some of the newer office staff, do need to get on the ball. Good help is hard to find.

Nope sub-par care for 10 years. We actually canceled our insurance for 5 years and needed a doctor for my asthma once in that time. They wanted $350 so I rode it out.
I have little faith I. Care here. We've been talking about moving me to another state.
I don't want a doc they is afraid of DPS and allows them to dictate my treatment.
The last one wouldn't give me my asthma meds unless I pee tested every 30 days.
Be aware you will too. 4951

What is DPS? I have never had difficulty gaining an rx for asthma/allergy. 4951

Haven't gone to Kingwood Family Practice but I've heard good things about them too. Stay away from Taylor too. She's all about billing, and have mixed up accounts, over charged, and over prescribed un-needed meds. I stopped going to her office after learning all this and learning that she lost her license taken away in NY for mal-practice.   4951

I see Dr Gross Pierce at Kingwood Practice too. I like her- I still have to advocate for myself- I think you do with every doc though. She's been wanting to put me on cholesterol meds for 12 years. Every year my cholesterol goes down a few points so getting closer to "normal"- that IF the AMA quits lowering what "normal" is 4951

Has been my family Dr. For 5 years and I have nothing but good things to say of her. 4951

The police. Department Public Safety.
I guess the one ingredient has been put on a list of drugs that are readily abused, sold, stolen or whatever.
In order to get it I have to agree to a pee test and then pee every 30 days.
I can't post what my true response to that is here,
I'd be banned for eternity and beyond.
I pay $500 a month for insurance and I don't use it. I am not ill. If I keep my disabilities at bay, it's minor pain. Ignored I'm house bound and bed ridden. My asthma if ignored (since spring ear aches sore throat nasal) lands into my chest and I wind up on breathing machines and sleeping in a recliner for 4 months.
Asthma for 40 years. Pain, that was bestowed upon me by an epileptic that chose to drive and a semi that decided to back up instead of going around the block.
But the drug addicted, sellers get whatever they need a a slap on the hand.
I almost drove myself down to the medical center last week I was in so much back pain.
One thing for sure is I am no criminal or nor am I an addict by any means, I'll be damned to be treated as such.
Old age makes a tough.
We do not trust any doctor that is hesitant or too afraid to treat us.
My husband has been flip flopped on off bp meds. That can not be good.
We are seriously talking about me or us setting up a residence in another state. One that has a heath care system we can trust.
Sorry for the rant, it rubs my craw. I'm 55 yrs old and have never been treated so callously.

Wow. I've never heard of that in relation to this category of rx. That would be a pita. When I can't breathe well, I just want to get my meds and go home. I wouldn't want to be jumping through hoops.

@Annie: The law changed last year that if you need anything considered "addictive"(think codeine) it is regulated more.My new dr doesn't even prescribe those medicines to people anymore.

That was exactly what he told me. When I asked what am I supposed to do being that is what heals me and is and has been the treatment. I know its effects etc. He shrugged his shoulders. Said many patients not happy.
Ummmm no not happy to have my health care being held hostage. Either conform or die. The land of the free. 4951

Have you ever seen her?? I have been to her office 3 times and always shoved into seeing her PAs instead. I don't like that at all. 4951

I always see her, have done for years now. Don't have a problem getting appointments, or follow up on labs. My husband says I get better treatment when talking to the office staff than he does. 4951
