But this time it's one of the most adorable stories you've ever heard. An 8-year-old girl (Trystan Hendricks) in Sugar Land only gets to see her dad (Bobby) every other weekend. She was missing him and decided to write him a letter. Not having a stamp, she just drew one on the envelope. Her mom (Jeni) thought it would just come back to their house. Well, low and behold, it was delivered to her father in Kingwood days later. He texted a picture of it to Jeni, who was very excited. She said, "I just wanted to high five our USPS for truly going above and beyond by mailing a simple sweet letter from a little girl to her Daddy. What an example of kindness...especially in today's world."Emoticon Full Story:http://abc13.com/news/post-office-delivers-cute-letter-with-no-stamp/1096310/ 4951

Years ago I used to take Boy Scouts to Philmont and tell them that they had to send a few post cards home, even if they were just written on the packaging from their trail food. I had several who took me me up on that and just wrote on a chunk of cardboard, one kid wrote his on an empty Lipton Onion Soup envelope. All were stamped and sent on their way and received. 4951

Yeah, sure. Real world is nobody over there looks at the mail anymore. Getting it delivered wasn't unusual. The unusual part was it went to the right house. 4951

Cute story, but I'm wondering why the mom didn't just put a stamp on it for her daughter to ensure it would get to her dad.  According to the story, she fully expected it to be returned back to the house...."I dismissively said yes, certain it would find its way right back to our home due to lack of proper postage," said Jeni Hendricks.

@SandyKnee:

Have you priced stamps lately? They are like $6 each! 4951

If they did it as a good gesture that is awesome... More likely though that the incompetent fools just missed it...  4951

As much as I dislike the USPS, I'm going to take this story as a "feel good" story and believe someone at the USPS did a good deed. 4951

Or mom could be kind.  She could deliver the letter to the dad.  Or she could teach her daughter to send an email.The USPS people did a nice thing by delivering that letter. 4951
