A check was mailed to me at end of day last Friday from Dallas (Texas), and I still haven't received it. I also ordered a gift online almost 2 weeks ago and it was transferred from UPS to our PO on Tuesday, with "scheduled to deliver Tuesday, 11/17" - still haven't received it.Of course mail doesn't get delivered until after 7p around here, so now I'm planning to camp out at the PO tomorrow morning for when they open if I don't receive either.HOW HARD IS IT TO DO YOUR JOB?And yes, same rant - different person - different day. I wish there was some way we could find out what the issue is and fix it. 4951

@ctl74: The fix is to use UPS or FedEx and not a quasi government agency if you want results and efficiencies.

@Stealth83:

Unfortunately you can't always dictate how a place sends stuff to you. Some places (like the IRS or utility companies) only uses the postal service and you can't demand that they change their ways just because the post office sucks. 4951

I sent a check to my son in Richmond/Rosenberg over a week ago, and it still hasn't arrived. So I went through the whole stop payment procedure and just took cash to his bank. Anyway, he contacted the PO  on Monday (as he figured it should have been there by Saturday) and was told by them that the lady who does his route sometimes lets her son do it in his neighborhood on the weekends!!! WHAT????? Seriously, there has to be some legal problem with that!!  :[ 4951

@Maisey1: How true... And so often nowadays UPS passes off it's deliveries (the smaller ones) to USPS without your prior knowledge or approval!!

That can't be legal. I would let your post master general know about that. If nothing else they should not be paying her for work she isn't doing! 4951

I ordered business cards over 2 weeks ago. Estimated delivery 3 to 5 days. I sent a gift to someone who is in my downline for young living a month ago. In both cases the tracking numbers pull up blank.

Im assuming the gift was stolen. The cards have today to arrive before I start calling people. Yet all three of my amazon packages ordered Friday has been delivered and my youngliving order was delivered in 4 days when it was estimated 7 to 10....lol 4951

I'm sorry @Burnsway! how annoying. I hope everything gets delivered for you. @Stealth83 - I don't disagree with you however, I had no idea that the package was going to be transferred to the post office from UPS. Emoticon 4951

Twice now I've ordered something, the packages arrived in Kingwood....... and disappeared. Each time I went to the shipping company (Zulily and Amazon) and got refunds. Lo and behold, 3-4 weeks later, the packages arrived out of the blue. It's 100% a Kingwood Post Office problem. 4951

I have to go there tomorrow because my DD's grandmother sent a package that needs to be signed for.  I hate going to the post office.  One clerk won't move faster than another.  They make sure they take care of the same amount of people and will sit there and wait for the other employees to help another customer.  Drives me crazy!!!! 4951

A woman took a package to the post office to mail and was told it would cost $2.40 for fast delivery or $1.30 for slower service.  "There is no hurry," she told the clerk, "just so the package is delivered in my lifetime."  The postmaster glanced at her and said, "That will be $2.40, please."I wrote a letter to the Postmaster General once on ways toimprove mail service.  It got lost.  I remember when the Postal workers started a slow-down strikefor a pay raise.  They had to call it off -- nobody noticed.One good thing about the Post Office -- it's over 200 years oldand yet it's never been hindered by progress. 4951

I circumvent the post office at all costs. No one should electively accept their levels of both ineptness and outright apathy. 4951
