As I get older I just don't celebrate them anymore. Anyone else like that? I turn 42 today.

My mother will be 90 and she still looks forward to birthdays
She's jealous of people celebrating their 99 and 100 birthdays.
Just wish I had that kind of ambition. 4951

@foxymama: Hey! Today is my husbands birthday too. I turn 42 in about 2 weeks so you and I are the same age. My hubby is out of town so he got a birthday text this morning. I don't like celebrating my b-day either, but my family usually likes to do a dinner or go out to eat for everyone's b-day so I just go with it. Happy Birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wishes.   I do get to go to a little Thanksgiving breakfast at my daughters pre-school this morning.  So that will be nice.   I know she is really looking forward to mommy coming to her school.  I might go out to eat for dinner with my daughter but it will probably be a Chick Fil A. LOL!   4951

Happy Birthday!!  Mine is later this week and I get what you mean.  My family wants to know what I want and I just don't really care.  My husband will cook me a meal and my daughter always gets me a Superhero shirt or some funky cozy pants-I would be happy with just that.  I can't eat store bought cakes and don't want anyone to go out of their way to make one.  We will celebrate it with my parents on Thanksgiving.  I loved it growing up because I usually got the whole week off. 4951

Yes, my wife and I are like that. We usually do a gift for something we both need like for our home or maybe a trip together.  I guess we do oblige the grandkids who like to have a party for us. For me that's the best reward with home made cards and presents from the kiddos. Oh and by the way: 4951

I like it to be acknowledged and I also like not to cook!  We usually go out for birthday dinners and have cake and presents, usually nothing fancy.   I don't really care about the presents, it's not my love language.  This year I got an outdoor self contained water fountain and a mandarin orange tree in a pretty pot for outside. One year my entire immediate family forgot.  Hubby was crazy busy working and going to school, older kids were teenagers.  A couple of days later, my daughter looked at me with a shocked look on her face and started crying, "we forgot your birthday", kids ran out and bought cake, hubby came home with a diamond necklace, lol.  Dd was so horrified.  I didn't really care, they are pretty good to me all year, which I consider more important.  Funny thing was, on my birthday I must have received 6 phone calls from my parents and siblings and it just didn't click with anyone.  Happy birthday @foxymama 4951

Happy birthday! Mine is on the 29th and really don't want anything. Next year when I turn 50 I'm buying myself a new truck. And hopefully paying cash for it or at least most of it.
