@Nurse3: I'll be up until it passes also. Many, many years ago when I was in 3rd grade, a tornado ripped through our small town the week before Halloween at 2:30 in the morning. The houses on either side of us were heavily damaged, but ours was just fine. On the next block, the house in the middle was destroyed and the others were fine. The randomness of the destruction was crazy. I don't know what good sitting up until it passes does for me, but it's something I always do!
@Leauxl: I know the feeling. I grew up in Florida and there were many many tornados while growing up. Never had one rip up my house, but ever since I had kids if there is a tornado warning in my area, I stay up until it passes. This house is a two story, so I just check everything out if I need to bring the kids downstairs until the danger has passed.Â
