I will miss it. I have class from 6-9. I really wanted to watch it because I am not familiar with any candidate except Hillary, whom I used to be a fan of, and Bernie, who I can't stand.

I am still on the Trump train for now. I like what he wants to do but not sure he can pull off. 4951

I might, but it's all just for entertainment. I have zero respect for any theology that doesn't encourage pulling your own weight and espouses "equality" that really means if you're doing well, you need to pay for others. 4951

I've said before that I'm socially liberal, fiscally conservative, and don't identify with either party.  If pushed to choose I'd have to go Libertarian but even then, I'd like to consider myself an educated, cognisant, independent voter that has no desire to straight ticket for any large body.That being said, conservatives and liberals alike need to let go of the negative rhetoric wrapped around "Socialist" and "socialism" and admit that they have both benefited greatly over the years from ideas that are socialistic in natural and born of that movement.  Some everyday examples would be the road system, police, mail, public schools, public libraries, student loans, museums, social security, public parks, the sewer system, the CDC and many others.  Not everything that's come from socialistic values has been good.  Being fiscally conservative, I think we're taxed too much for government programs that are wasteful.  I don't think we have stringent enough qualifications to either receive or continue to receive welfare benefits.  I like the idea of a national health care program but I have zero faith in our government's ability to run one successfully.I guess what I'm trying to say is that we need a dialog that looks past the knee jerk "Socialism is communism is marxism" rant and see where we can 1) admit there are benefits to some of the ideas, and 2) figure out how to properly put them in play. Just my 2 cents.  YMMV. 4951

I'll be watching it. Don't worry SenseofHumor, it will be replayed over and over. Stealth, how a party can embrace a socialist is beyond me . Then they get mad because Carson said he wouldn't support a Muslim president. I wouldn't support one either. 4951

I just don't get the insane aversion to socialism.  The evidence is pretty clear that it's a pretty effective system.  Look at the GDP and GNI per capita of the most socialist countries.  Look at education rates, crime rates, life expectancy, etc. etc. etc.  We all do much better when we live as a community and take care of one another.  You know, it's kind of exactly how Paul told the early Christians to live ... I guess that's another part of the Bible the conservatives skipped over. 4951

Ask folks in Venezuela how that wonderful socialism is working out for them.  It is laughable to think that it is a system that works, when history shows us daily, the exact opposite.

@Fallon: Socialism was not the problem in Venezuela.  There were a lot of other factors at play.  Let's just focus on that one corrupt country and ignore Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, etc.  Granted they're not utopias, and I'm sure you'll point out problems with each, but they're all seriously kicking our *** in economics, education, quality of life, etc.

@Fallon:

Exactly. Socialism never works. Bob works hard to make a living to support his family. He provided food, shelter, health care, and an education for his kids. He pays his taxes. Joe lives on welfare. He gets food stamps, free healthcare, subsidized housing, grants for education. Joe doesn't work because he doesn't want work. So why does Bob keep working ? How long does Bob have to carry Joe on his back? Joe has 3 kids who he doesn't support so Bob's taxes pay for Joe's kids . Is that fair? No no no. Support yourself. Americans are tired of
carrying all the Joe's and Joe's kids on their backs. 4951

@HotterThanYou: we have too many takers in our society. Thats why it can't be successful here. In those countries, the vast majority actually participate, the problem of generation after generation cradle to grave isn't as rampant.
