>> I have my doubts on any of it passes on the basis of the gender neutral restrooms/locker rooms. Equality as far as other areas, fine, but when children are involved and can be exposed to things they shouldn't be, a line as to be drawn.
@donnatella: Agree 100% but the Mayor refused to draw the line, and Lord help us when men dressed like women start going into ladies restrooms.
@godawgs: Nothing wrong with having a MEN'S, WOMEN'S and then a UNISEX bathroom. They already have that for parents with children in many places around town. Just turn those into a general UNISEX and that covers everyone. Why does every "type" need their own?Â
@donnatella: I agree, but then the next step will be to require all businesses to have three bathrooms by ordinance and all these little mom and pop places now have to foot the bill.
I don't agree with the argument that trans folks are predators, I think they have a mental illness, but I don't think they are all predators. Â The problem with these ordinances is that they open the door (figuratively and literately) for actual predators. Â If the ordinance passes, even though I am not trans, can I legally walk into any woman's locker room? Â Or do I have to put on a dress first?
@ForeCPA90: I don't think they are predators either, no more so than heterosexuals. I just don't think they should be mixing with young children of the opposite sex if they have not completed the process. In a locker room situation, a young girl could very well be in view of male privates, and the same for young boys. Young children should be protected from what they are exposed to and in a bathroom or locker room, where there are more "undress" that is more likely to happen.Â
