One of our cats, a 2 year old calico rescue named Roxy, wandered off last night as the interior door to our garage never fully shut and the garage door is always left open a few inches as a refuge for 2 of our neighbors' outdoor cats. She is currently in heat and we are assuming looking for a male suitor to fulfill her biological urges. We live in Sherwood Trails on Pine Cone Drive between Bassingham and Stagdon Drive. We have no idea when she got out, but she was gone this morning when my wife got up for work around 7. Because all of our cats are 24/7 indoor cats, they do not have any collars, identification or RFID chips. She is probably very scared and can be very skittish around strangers, so she will most likely run if approached. If you do spot her in the area, please call 281.299.2124 immediately and I will come to find her. She came into our lives 2 years ago as an emaciated, sick and very weak kitten who was pretty close to death. Through a month of bottle-feeding and constant TLC, we brought her back to health and she began to thrive. She is exceptionally special to us and we miss her dearly!! I am about to print out signs and post them all over the neighborhood, but if anyone has found her or knows of her whereabouts, please let us know! Thanks in advance for your help and positive thoughts. =)Day One:[img][/img]Day Two:[img][/img]Three Weeks:[img][/img] Current Photo:[img][/img]Current Picture 4951
I live in ST also, and will definitely keep an eye out for her. Leave your garage door open a crack. I wouldn't be surprised if she came back during the night or at dawn. Good luck! 4951

Thanks! Yes, the garage will remain open a bit as it always is, just in case. We're really hoping she'll come back some time tonight, but we're not sure if she could find the way as she has never really been outside before! =( 4951
Cats can always find their way back, if they want to, and aren't injured. It's amazing how far they can travel and still find their way home. Also, if she's in heat, you will most likely have kittens on the way when she gets back. 4951
She is absolutely beautiful. I love all the little hairs that stick out when they are kittens. I will keep my eyes open and I hope you get your baby back. 4951

Still missing... I put out 30 signs all over Sherwood Trails and Elm Grove today. I'm hoping that someone has taken her in and is waiting to see if she belongs to anyone. Fingers crossed! Thanks for all of the comments above! =) 4951

FOUND!!! =)Apparently, we have the Hide-and-Seek World Champion on our hands here!! It looks like she's been hiding out in our garage since she disappeared Tuesday night. Which is very odd since the entire day she had been howling like an alley cat in heat and then suddenly went radio silent like some international uber spy!! Somehow, she has found a place to hide out that even I haven't found yet - and I spent at least 45 minutes yesterday and today trying to find her in there (yeah, we definitely need to lighten the load a bit, huh?!) LOLAnyway, thanks for all the well wishes and positive thoughts! She's still skittish and won't come near us for some odd reason. She's a sweet and loving cat who has ALWAYS been personable and friendly, so I'm guessing the hormones have her really out of whack. So, women, you all get a pass now since I see first hand how much it affects our cat, I will no longer accuse anyone of faking PMS or using it as an excuse for their temporary insanity!! LMAO!! 4951

If anyone can point me to a vet who will spay her without jacking her up with the completely unnecessary and useless rabies and other vaccines, I'll do it immediately! We used to have a veterinarian friend in Austin that fixed all of our animals gratis and without vaccination, but he's since moved and we haven't found anyone who will do it without jabbing them first. Our cats are indoors 24/7 and we don't feel a need or desire to have them poisoned for no reason. And yes, I've done extensive research on animal vaccines, adverse reactions, supposed benefits and effectiveness, so please don't get on a soap box and lecture me until you've done the same... Grammar + Logic = Rhetoric If you haven't done the Grammar and applied the Logic, I have no interest in your rhetoric. That's not directed at anyone personally, just in general. But I do FULLY agree that she needs to be spayed and we've been wanting to for over a year now. We just want it done OUR way, not Big Brother's way. ALL of our other 6 cats and 3 dogs are fixed and the one cat who WAS vaccinated with rabies died of cancer from a tumor near the injection site. The others are incredibly healthy and happy! Coincidence? Google it. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."Thanks! =) 4951
There are a number of reputable spay and neuter clinics around the area. Here is one I recently read about.  SpayHouston.Org is the best deal around. Prices starting at $70 for a dog. Very low cost basic vetting also. Located off Beltway/45/Hardy Toll Rd. I have used them several times and they are wonderful. Here is an excerpt from their webpage:Adopt A Cat has opened a high quality, low cost spay/neuter clinic called Spay/Houston for cats, dogs, and rabbits in the Houston Intercontinental area. We are still servicing Conroe via a transport van. The transport pick up location is at the Conroe City Animal Shelter. The physical clinic is located at 412F North Sam Houston Parkway East (on Beltway 8 between Hardy Toll Road and I-45), Houston, TX 77060.Click here to make an appointment via email (Service@spayhouston.org) or call 281-260-0015! Please include your name and contact info. Se habla Espanol!Do you know what happened to your dog’s puppies or your cat’s kittens?Over 250,000 pets enter into Houston and surrounding area animal shelters each year including the puppies and kittens of purebred animals. More than half of these homeless pets are put to sleep. Your pet’s puppies and kittens could end up put to sleep or suffering in the streets. Spaying and neutering helps reduce the number of unwanted pets and pet deaths. 4951

@tatertot58: Thanks tatertot! I've tried them all and they won't spay without first vaccinating against my wishes and informed consent. Still looking... =) 4951
