When replacing your car batteries do you go back to the dealer or do you go to autozone or O'Reilly which is best? I think my truck needs a new battery and I'm not sure if I should take it back to the dealer or if I should get one at Autozone or O'Reilly's, thanks in advance. 4951

Any auto parts store. The dealer will jack the price up a bit more. Batteries are getting expensive. 4951

Thanks so much, the dealer told me I had to bring it back to them so I wasn't for sure. I know for fact for my car I went to O'Reilly to get a battery but they wouldn't put it in for me so I had to leave there and go to Autozone. Autozone put it in no problem and I was on my way, for my truck I wasn't too sure. 4951

@bubbleyes72: We get the cheapest battery we can for the value-I go pick it up and DH puts it in.  I have put them in before and it is pretty easy.

Well I wish i had that option, I just found out that my battery is under my passenger seat, go figure... I would have thought it was under the hood of my truck.

I believe they install them for free. You may want to check. 4951

My honda accord had it's fuel pump above the drivers side rear wheel well. The only way to get to it was to pull the rear seat and unbolt the little door. Then you had to try to unhook one and get the other in. A huge PITA. 4951

@bubbleyes72: That's weird...I agree with @friday1, Walmart usually has the best prices and installs the battery for free.  I would call and check first though.

Interesting, only early VW bugs and Willy's keeps I ever saw with the battery under the seat.
Since lead acid batteries give off explosive hydrogen when they charge, you know, like after you start your vehicle, and it recharges it. 4951

right now I'm driving my Accord. I would like to replace my battery. I can go buy another one but would rather charge the one I have and drive it to Autozone. I called them and they said that they have a replacement battery but since is under my seat they couldn't do it... Emoticon

I'm waiting for my friend to come look at it but he's at work...

Many car makers put batteries in various places, under seats, trunk and for various reasons. Audi, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Buick, bmw, Mercedes-Benz are just a few. All have battery terminals under the hood for jump starts or external charging. 4951
