with a nest of red wasps!

I was trimming some shrubbery and had no idea that there was a nest in there. I don't care if the hedge trimmer is broken, because I just dropped it and ran.

Went inside, got 2 wasps cans and drenched the bush. I hope they're all dead now. Hope the bush dies too. Never really cared for it. 4951

Those guys are almost as mean as yellow jackets - glad you didn't get stung! 4951

There are still some stragglers... Ugh! I'm out of wasp spray too. Might have to resort to a flame thrower now. 4951

I've encountered some of those red/orangeish ones that way more mean than yellow Jackets.Had some medium sized black ones a few years back, under the eave, that as soon as you got within about 8 feet of their nest, one (usually only one) would fly over and sting you, then fly back.I wear a dew rag when I mow the yard, and the first time I encountered I was mowing the yard. Felt something hit the dew rag (didn't make it through).Next pass I saw it coming coming, hit the dew rag again (didn't make it through).Next pass was tad further out, so they didn't bother me.Went to check on it when I was done mowing, came around the corner and one hit me again, this time missed the dew rag and got me on the forehead.Hurt for a little while, swelled up a little, then went away. That NIGHT, sprayed the crap out of them. Didn't get bothered at night with just a flash light. 4951

I fought a gang of flying roaches with a weedeater and blower once.  The weedeater got some of them but not all.  The blower works well on most insects but doesn't kill them.  My dad used to use WD-40 and his lighter.  He's spray the WD-40 can, ignite the spray with his lighter, and then turn it on the wasp nest.  Can't do that anymore as they changed the propellant in WD-40. 4951
