We have a ton and while I agree they eat the other insects-we just have too many.  What product have you used that you find works the best?  I plan on planting lemon grass and doing some more natural things to repel them but I need something to make them go away now.I have the Diatemaceous(sp)  Earth but it doesn't touch the spiders. They are huge!! 4951

Probably wolf spiders. Yes they are beneficial! Back in north ms we had lots of black widows, recluse and the gross looking ones with the big butts that were more common for getting inside. Viper is our go to product and it's kills pretty much any creepy crawly. 50 bucks for a small bottle that you mix in a sprayer. We got it at a co-op. Google it. Perhaps TSC or the co-op on Knox road carry it. 4951

I say take what you like and burn the house down.  There is really no other option at this point. 4951

The vacuum cleaner works.  A cup with a lid works too.  Then you can expel them from the house without touching them. 4951

Are they inside or out? I don't particularly like them inside but outside I never worry too much unless they build a web across the walkways. Inside, I'd just hit them with a broom I think, I hate strong pesticides. 4951

Sticky traps, spray pesticide around the foundation, and natural stuff inside. Get more cats. 4951

Find the place they are nesting. Was at someone's home and found her fake plants had dozens of egg webs on them. If you have hard flooring look for specks on the floor. This is the spider droppings. Getting rid of the web will not make a spider leave. Boric acid around the outside I heard works. I use outdoor sprays Go to ace and talk with one of their people. Most are very educated in these. Or check out the local pool supply shops they will get you headed in the right directions. Our exterminator tried to say there isn't a way to kill or prevent them tho I dont believe that 4951

@topcat: We have a cat just for that reason - to get rid of spiders and roaches. Apparently this cat has decided he's too good for the small stuff as he ignores spiders and roaches and instead brings us stuff like squirrels, rats and snakes that he finds in the woods. I'm just waiting for him to drag a raccoon to the back door for us. We ended up getting an exterminator. He does not spray inside the house but does the yard every 3 months. It greatly reduced the number of spiders and roaches around - and in - the house.

@topcat: We have 4 which is why I think they aren't inside the house.
