Anyone used them before? I need custom plantation shutters on my dining room window and help with window treatments in my living room. Any advice? I have an appointment in a few hours for a conslutation. Any one else you recommend? 4951

We used them when we first moved to Kingwood in Jan 1995. The wood blinds are still holding up. 4951

My neighbors just put shutters in their whole house. After several estimates they went with Sunburst. That is who I'll be calling when my new house in Tavola is built. 4951

It's nice. The drive to anything is pretty far compared to Kingwood but we don't mind. My in laws house will be done in November around the corner from us. Electric bills are really low but water is sky high. We're talking no pool and watering the yard 3 days a week for 15 minutes and only 2 people in the house, $143 and only $30 is useage, the rest is sewage, San Jacinto River Authority and police. Gas we only use about $0.45 so our bill is around $18 (they have a customer fee which I assume is to read the meter). The HOA either isn't working yet or is really lenient because a lot of our neighbors have weeds in their yard. It's very quiet here. Our house backs up to Tavola drive and we can barely hear the train (Lennar is our builder). Even when they were tearing the trees down nextdoor to build, we could definatly hear them, but it wasnt near as loud as outside. Police are ALWAYS scouting the neighborhood. Just to warn you, 2 people on my street are selling because the taxes are so high. I'm not sure if they didn't pay attention to anything that was said when they signed their purchase agreement or closing but yes, taxes are very high. They are exactly what was put in your purchased agreement. Overall we love it here are wouldn't change where we live. Customer service with Lennar was outstanding and if we need something fixed it's done immedatly. After closing our mortgage was about $120 cheaper then anticipated. Which Floorplan did you choose? 4951

I got my plantation shutters from Home Depot. They use rockwood shutters in Houston, very good quality. www.rockwoodshutters .com/They run sales on them from time to time. 4951

We know about the taxes. But everywhere we considered the taxes were high. We wanted out of KW but still close to 59. I think that area will grow. I lived in the back of KW so I had a drive to get to 59 and Northpark was always backed up. We went with Perry single story model 3322. 4951

I like the look of plantation shutters, can anyone who has them compare them to regular wood blinds, what is the advantage?  Trying to decide if it's worth the cost to update.  4951

We used Express Blinds in Atascosita.  Very happy with them.As for the difference in the shutters versus blinds - it's all in the look you want.  Blinds will not close off as tightly but are a heck of a lot cheaper. 4951

I'm currently helping the owner of the company I work for fight 3 Day Blinds on deceptive business practices. He paid over 10k to have his home outfitted with blinds and ended up disputing a small portion of the payments made because they never finished the install, all the valance were missing, and about a third of the blinds were an inch short on either end of the window opening. They refused to fix the problems and posted negative remarks on his credit. 4951

An update. 3 day blinds quoted us $8550 for the whole house and that was with 20% off. Houston carpet and shutter gallery quoted us $3200 for the SAME thing. Same brand and all. They seem to have better reviews too and they are family owned. Sunburst will be here in about 30 minutes so well see what they have to say. 4951

We just had Sunburst out here and we love their products are made in Dallas. They were a few thousand cheaper then 3 day and in my opinion had a better product. So far I'm leaning to them. 4951
