I'm going to get a new friend some as thank you. Should I have them delivered to her work? And who's the best florist in the area? I'd appreciate any suggestions. 4951

Most women love getting flowers at work.  The others around all come to see, admire, chatter, oooohhh and awwww over them, no matter who sent them or why.  You would think from the reaction each time that the girl was newly engaged, showing off a diamond. Always, always a big deal!!!!! 4951

@Sparkles:  And for the fact that it's difficult to get them home in the car without them tipping over and sending water all over the car.

Not sure where you are, Kingwood Flower Market on 494 near 2nd Baptist is a great place, they charge $10 to deliver, but their flower prices are good.  4951

Just secure them in a box, then seat-belt the box.  There was a beautiful bouquet that arrived at the security desk last week that was very unique.  Red roses along with lilies and calla-lilies.  GORGEOUS!!!  There were only 6 red roses, so maybe he was treading lightly and hopeful.  Either way, well done! 4951

An easy thing to do is have a card ready to stick facing outward to avoid conversation.

Sorry your dog died.
Sorry I gave you that rash.

Just swap out the mushy one and no one asks questions when they read the new card.

Just thought of the idea now. Curious how it works out for someone. 4951

@Mahm:

Believe it or not some people go to work to work. They don't want to share their personal lives with work people.

A lot of people are like that. It's easy to see if you simply observe them.

@Stealth83:

I wasn't necessarily referring to just the workplace. And I think it's quite possible to continue working while having flowers on your desk.

I assumed she meant she doesn't like attention in any setting.
