Our house came with appliances but I'm not sure I like them. Iv debated on replacing them but I can't stand to replace 3 month old appliances that still have a 3 year warranty on them with new appliances that probably only have a year warranty. The Electrolux guy has already been out 4 times to fix the fridge (leaky ice dispenser leaving water marks down the door, leaky ice dispenser again, rusted doors and leaky ice dispenser again) but the nice part is I don't have to pay for it. I think they finally fixed it correctly since it was a recall. I guess my questions are, how the heck do you keep finger prints off stainless appliances. It seems like I don't even touch them and they appear. If I do replace them is all stainless steel, regardless of brand, just as hard to keep clean or just these since they are builder grade? And does anyone have the black stainless or slate appliances and how do you like them?
Iv never owned a house before nor had stainless appliances so this is all new to me.
@Nicole4647:
Congratulations! May you find much joy making your new house a loving home.
I'd personally suck it up. Our Amana ice maker gave us an issue when we bought it. They fixed it and it lasted us 9 years before it got a little noisy. I insisted on putting it in the garage while we shopped. We kept looking and with no annoying noise to nag us it lasted another two years.
it needed a freon boost or new cooler motor. I'd sold my house and put free on it. The Atascocita swim coach drove by and asked for it. He was gonna buy the part and fix it for the kids had cold drinks. He took a large leather couch and loveseat too for the kids. That was 5 yrs almost 6.
I'd wait til my family grew and need arose. Bank the money and in the meantime before big purchases make a pro and con list. It helped us big.
