Starting up a new book club, for the area and planning our 2nd meeting. Open to all genres but geared more towards Paranormal & Fantasy Fiction. We currently have 1 author as a member. I want it to be one that actually meets but I am open to doing online meetings. Sept. Meeting is Saturday Sept. 26th at 6pm at a private residence in New Caney. The book is "Spellbooked" A retired witches mystery by jim & joyce lavene. This is our fb group link, OtherWorld Book Club. If you do not do FB just send a message for rsvping and directions. *I will also have a website up soon that will have the book club meetings and info listed.

It's an interesting first book in a series, the second one comes out in October.The blurb from amazon: Once upon a time in Wilmington, North Carolina, three witches ran a curio shop named Smuggler’s Arcane. But as the years passed, their magical powers started to fade—leaving them no choice but to conjure up a retirement package…   Before they could blink their eyes or twitch their noses, Molly, Elsie, and Olivia somehow became eligible for AARP. But they can’t fly off to Boca Raton just yet. First they must give up their magic, recruit and train three new witches, and pass on their cherished spellbook. They’ve barely begun to consider potential practitioners when Olivia winds up dead and their spellbook is stolen. To honor their friend and reclaim their spells, Molly and Elsie are about to go wand-to-wand with a dangerous young witch more powerful than the trio was in their prime. And this time they’re going to need more than magic up their sleeves… 4951

That sounds really good, but then again, I was/am a PRACTICAL MAGIC and CHARMED fan. I'll definitely check that out. Sounds like a good read. Thanks for the synopsis. 4951

No problem Emoticon Witchy Fiction is fun and the mysteries are a good break from the usual paranormal romance. 4951

@beadweaver: LOL, but I was being serious. I just assumed that if someone was Wiccan they just were, whether they actively practiced or not. 4951

My husband said retire? I thought they got hit with houses and melted.

Really I'm a solo practitioner. Don't shove it in people's faces. It's for me and a way of life to do...
NO HARM

Not interested in a book club, crochet club, coven in the park. Or what to be alerted what someone does every second of every day.
I wish her or anyone that wants to join in the best of luck.

That's me.

@beadweaverIts a book club, mine or anyone else's beliefs are irrelevant. This not a Pagan/Witch Book Club, it is for anyone and everyone interested in mainly Paranormal or Fantasy Fiction. And why yes I am Pagan and have a local group, this book club has absolutely no connection to it and neither does my hoop/flow group. 4951

@Celticdragonfly:
I know.
I was taken aback to be added to a friend list without first a PM saying hello or without a conversation on a thread.
No problem. Best of luck.
