@OhHappyPets both of your turds are on the list. I find it to be inaccurate. Bill will murder anyone at the door and Tyger poops on people as a defense mechanism. 4951
I have had several of those breeds. I disagree with the list.
Although mastiffs are big and sometimes scary, they are the friendliest most gentle giants. Young or old when someone sees the gorgeous face and gentleness they melt. 4951
I think it depends on the dog. Lists are biased. Case in point, I posted one the other day and my DH found the same list by another site with completely different results.I still think my boy is the friendliest dog there is and he is a GSD. 4951
Doxies are not on the list for good reason, they are holy little killing machine terrors with absolutely zero manners. They lay around taking up space until they are barking at the air. Just miserable little beasts BUT very sweet IF they like you. 4951
I am surprised that Cocker Spaniels are not on the list. I currently have three and one that died last year. They are all wonderful with my kids with one exception...they are thieves. Just this morning my daughter was walking to the car holding her breakfast and one of them jumped up and knocked down her food. Sadly for his effort, it was the other two that enjoyed the spoils. They also think all kids toys are also dog toys. But they are so loving and gentle. Even if I am playing rough with them, they are always careful when the kids enter the picture. 4951

@BooBear: So very true. I love my doxy to death, but he is a jerk and racist, which is not OK. 4951
Labs..... Enough saidNot sure I agree with Dalmatian. Way too much interbreeding. We had one- very high energy and stubborn- he was good without kids but not a breed I'd consider great for families. They can be snappish and get overly attached to one person. I really loved Spot- he was very beautiful 4951
I meant Spot was good WITH my kids but in general I wouldn't say they're the best choice for families.I LOVE Goldens but just don't want to deal with their thick, long coats. 4951
