My new dryer came today and I went to install both it and my washing machine.I should have known when looking at the cold water valve and seeing it was a bit crooked that there would be an issue.I went ahead and attached the hoses anyway, turned it on and water should out the cold water side.  It looks like the valve was partially pulled off.  Should I try and reinstall the one I have or call a plumber? 4951

if you have to ask than you should probably call a plumber

@mm4731: Well, I am guessing I just unscrew the valve and put it back on right-part of the piece it hooks into is showing on it and not the hot water part.

@mm4731: I have bought a money pit.  I love it and know it will be great.  I just didn't think we would have so many repairs right off the bat.  The first day, I blew up the breaker box, the hot water heater broke and what I was told by everyone was just a thermostat problem turned out to be more than just that.  ON THE FIRST DAY!!I had the people who fixed my AC and hot water heater come help me install the water line to my fridge and dishwasher, and a garbage disposal and we ended up having to replace most of the plumbing under the sink.  I went to start the dishwasher and it holds water b/c someone pour cement or paper mache into the line.I haven't been in this place for 2 weeks.

@RogueHippEE:
Did you buy a foreclosure? I have heard of them doing really crazy things.
Did you purchase a home warranty?

Call a plumber. Figure out what's going on and ask him to take a peak at things.

its a pretty easy fix if you have the right tools, and if you dont, go buy them cause you need them

@mm4731: What did you type in to get that? All I got was instructions a leaky valve on the washing machine.  My valves are in the wall sitting upright in a broke *** plastic container.

@beadweaver: It's a foreclosure but it had to go through 3 different inspections and an appraiser supposedly looked at everything.We didn't buy a home warranty b/c I know things aren't up to code and we would have to pay for that first anyway(at least that's how it has worked in the past).

RogueHippeeFeel free to PM me if you would like me to come by and look. I live at the front of SWH and I think you mentioned you live in that village, too. I'm home for the remainder of the day. I've remodeled a couple of houses and could give you the straight up, no charge of course. 4951

@RogueHippEE: Post a pic and maybe we can diagnose from that.
