Once it was daylight I saw why the dogs went beserk this morning when we first got out. There was a HUGE possum, certainly a 15 pounder in the middle of the yard with Odie snifflin him (the weiny dog ) I figgered Homie killed it....SOOOOOOOOO not wanting to put him in the trash, I picked him up, put him in a kitchen trash bag, got on the trike, and drove over to the wooden walkway bridge where the big drainage ditch is next to the golf course that feeds into Lake Houston. Its an area where the water is around 4-6 feet deep and its LOADED with turtles......a few hundred to be sure you can see them every morning. I figgered I would feed em some fresh possum and what they did not want the catfish would eat.......SO...........I dropped this ol boy a long way down, watched him hit the water with a pretty good size splash......and to my surprise.............that sucker started swimmin to the side!!!!! I watched him for a few minutes as he drank LOTs of water....I bet the fall knocked the wind out of him as he said there for some time. I watched him until he wondered up into the tall grass....Looks like the water critters are gonna have to find another meal. I was pleased that the ol possom was still alive and could live to pester someone else another day......
Then I came home, gave both Odie and Homie a double bath, and since I was already funky, went ahead and cleaned the fish tank filters and took a good shower myself...........and its not even 10 yet. 4951
