>> Not too bad out yet. Headed to the Flying J to do a ride. Praying the drunks made it home and the rest of the drivers take pity on us poor souls who thought a bike ride would be fun. See y'all in a few
@Jpgurl:
Is this an open group/ride? We live very close to the Flying J and my husband would love to join in.
@Katiemcg: Hubby and I and a few others- very loosely based and not organized.sometimes we do the ride I described- sometimes longer, sometimes we meet in Duessen or Coldspring- whatever goes. For a more consistent and organized ride- I suggest the ride from Bike Barn in Atascocita- 7:30 (?)on Sat mornings. They're more or less a 16mph plus average- they sometimes have a no drop option. For a faster group- there's one that meet at the Starbucks in Town Center at 6:30- 20mph average PLUS- they're fast and there's NOT a no drop option. The guys I ride with- we like to aim at 16mph plus average- when we're training for a ride ( like now-Bike Around the Bay in Oct). There's also The Woodlands Cycling Club- they are a very large club with varied options. We see them from time to time when we're up in your area. Your hubby might look them up! We're just heater skelter - I used to do the organizing- but quite frankly I got burned out. I'd get a ride organized and have 15 people commit and then no one would show- I'd have wasted my time
. So now hubs and I just go no ride- and I have a small group of people who will show when they say they will. Makes it easy 4951
