Moody Gardens Galveston. Act like kids and play on the pier and enjoy Moody's exhibits.

Drive to New Orleans get a room with a balcony, party and people watch

If you like art and museums, go stay at Hotel ZaZa, spend quality time at the museums, enjoy the spa and great restaurants, then at night, enjoy the pool.

Check into any of the really nice full service hotels downtown or around town, have naughty parent weekend, get a couples massage, live off room service and just enjoy quality time together.

@Annie: Can't help with the spa, but I like the Hyatt Regency right on the walk. the San Antonio visitor's Bureau usually has a discount code for them, if you're interested.If money doesn't matter, I would go to Hyatt Lost Pines, outside Bastrop. Has the spa and golf and a great pool area..

Is it along the lines of the Hyatt near Sea World? Their upscale dining and lazy river made for a fun getaway a few summers ago.

@Annie: Don't go cheap hotel. If you want to relax go full service luxury hotel. At the minimum, go with Riverwalk Rivercenter, higher floor with balcony overlooking the Riverwalk itself. There is a dinner boat that runs up and down the Riverwalk. 4951

@ET: There is also a bed and breakfast there in front of the Gristmill. I love Gruene.

@donnatella:

I stayed at the hotel next to the convention center in the Spring. I think it was a Hyatt. Very nice in comparison to my previous budget friendly hotels of San Antonio.

@Annie: Think it is a similar set-up just different countryside.  It butts up to the Colorado River.  Check it out, very nice place. I'd wait until school is back in session to avoid the kids.

Our 5th date was tubing and dinner at the Gristmill. Perhaps a good nostalgia weekend. 4951
