Ok so I don't know if it needs to be charged or if I need to take it to a mechanic but my car a/c runs fine when I'm driving down the road but when I'm at a complete stop it blows hot. What is going on? Please help! It's too damn hot to be having this problem! LOL Thanks!Â
@mandib7780: When you are stopped in traffic or at a light, your car's engine is at idle, not spinning the compressor as fast, and hot air from your engine is impacting the efficiency of your AC system. Even if your AC is perfectly charged, which it sounds like yours is not, the AC generally will not blow as cold when your vehicle is at a stop and idling. Have it checked. It's usually a diagnostic fee to check it. If you want to check yourself, when you get home, open your hood and look to see if you have condensation on the accumulator (usually shiny metal bottle close to the dash on the engine side). If it is not sweating, you are low on refrigerant or there is some other problem with your AC.
