I usually see them about now at Walmart. I think Lowes had them last time I was there also. 4951

I'd love to can some of my tomatoes but the heavy spring rains all but killed them and then they perked up and the heat and dry weather have taken their toll. I have 2 bell peppers still and that's about it. 4951

We were looking for them also but not for canning.  My DD made me flowers out of yarn and put decorative rocks in them so I could take it to work and not kill it since I have a black thumb.  We were buying colored ones at the .99 cent store but I told her we had to find the clear for cheaper. 4951

@Chrisinkingwood:  I bought 40 pounds of ground beef and need to freeze some and can the rest.

@HollyHobby: Wow, 40 lbs? Did you go in on a 1/4 or 1/2 cow from a butcher?  Not many people can meat any more. My mom said she remembered back in the 20's and 30's when she was on her parent's farm in Minnesota her dad would slaughter a hog and her mother would can a lot of the pork for in the winter.

@Chrisinkingwood: I bought it from Zaycon.

zayconfoods.com. is the URL, I believe. Canning meat and chicken is a huge trend, believe it or not.
