Eat the meat out of her lunchable. My oldest doesn't eat meat, my granddaughter, she is 4, doesn't eat meat. Oldest hasn't forced that on her but it's just kind of happened. She eats the cheese and crackers out of it. The teachers made her eat one piece of ham. I'm a little **** at the school. Since when have schools become food police? I've always believed you shouldn't make a kid eat anyway and they have just sort of crossed a line to me. Since I am the one that usually takes and picks her up, I want to say something but daughter doesn't want me to. 4951

😳.... This is not the first thing I read about a day care forcing a child to eat something.  It really needs to be brought to their attention.  It is not acceptable.   4951

Food police seems to be the new school trend. Too bad they aren't that motivated to focus on the important things with the same kind of gusto. 4951

@ET:

Have enough wine that I forget about it? Yeah, I considered that but how to get her to school when I'm drunk is the obstacle to that. 4951

There was a time when I was raising my 5 kids that I was a believer in kids eating or at least trying  what we served them and we had a few picky eaters. Now that I am a grandparent I shrug my shoulders and don't worry too much, if they don't like it now they usually come around to trying new things as they age. My kids tease me about how I have changed and how I used to force them but not the grand kids.That being said, I don't think it was the teacher or day care helper's job to force her to eat it anything. Funny but my younger grandkids love those Lunchables. I usually just create my own with items I buy or have in the pantry. Perhaps just send a note or mention it casually, I wouldn't make a BIG issue out of it. 4951

Teach her to open it and quickly hide the meat in a napkin, drop it on the floor or throw it away. Problem solved. 4951

How about buying a Tupperware type container with little compartments and make your own "lunchable"? 4951

Lunchables are gross.  Just buy the items she likes seperatly and prepare her lunch.Crackers, cheese , fruit, etc..  My daughters mothers day doesn't recommend the lunchables.  And they have never forced her to eat.  They offer but if she refuses they don't push it.   They just tell me or leave a note when i pick her up she didn't eat or she ate very little.   4951

@donnatella: Funny but when my kids were little we had an odd antique dining table that had some drawers on one side, we kept the silverware and napkins in them. It wasn't until my kids were adults that they confessed that they would unwanted bits of meals in the drawers and toss them later when we weren't looking. They also fed the dog a lot!

@HollyHobby: Cheese, grapes, a scone, some peanut butter and a boiled egg (same stuff in a Starbucks protein bento box) makes a good lunchables-style lunch. 4951

First off, does the school know your preference to her not eating meat?Can someone take the time to prepare the child a decent meal for school?  She must be starving if all she is sent with is a lunchable.Not judging but maybe this is not the school's fault. 4951
