I am still searching for answers regarding some health issues my daughter has been having. Her thyroid blood tests were normal -- although both doctors did not insist on the more advanced tests. She is still losing hair, and I'm concerned.I'd like to take her to a female ob/gyn for an exam and assessment but need a doctor who is just amazing with teen girls. My daughter is dreading this exam, but since her cycles have never been regular, this has to happen.  EmoticonCan anyone recommend to me a doctor that fits this description?  4951

When I lived there is used Dr. Champion with Care for Women. She is wonderful. She's very calm, which I loved. Her nurse was also so sweet. 4951

While my doctor is male, all of the doctors at Care for Women are awesome. They do their best to make everybody comfortable, and they keep things warm, if you catch my drift. The coverup actually covers you up, and if it's a complete wellness exam, you get a robe instead. They're also very thorough. My doctor doesn't let me walk out of the room until he is confident that I understand everything and don't have any questions. 4951

Dr ./Ms Kris Barnesfather is great.  My Dd has seen her  and really likes her even though she would rather not have to go.  Dr Brian  Chou is a great thyroid/ Endocronolist also 4951

I go to Care for Women as well. My DD sees Dr. Champion and loves her. I see Dr. Spinnato (male Dr.) at the Kingwood location. I sometimes do not care for Dr. Spinnato's bedside manner, but I think it is just his personality.

I use to see Dr. Beckner until he retired and I loved him. All of the staff is wonderful at Care for Women and I highly recommend them. 4951

I see Amy Plummer at her health Kingwood. She's great. But if I may make a suggestion, speaking from a person who has lots of issues female and otherwise, you need to take her to a rheumatologist. I have seen some of the best doctors all over this country and have worked for them as well. I have been told a myriad of things. But this sounds like an auto immune disorder. While I do agree hormones play a part in it most definitely (I have the same problems) If she is not taking any medications or in contact with anything that could possibly be a contributing factor then it is most definitely cellular. My issues started to become worse when I hit my teen years and I and my parents started to notice that it wasn't just childhood growing pains and it couldn't be excused away. I have been a human test case for years and I have had several surgeries and hospitalizations to confirm it. But 7 years ago my husband sent me here to Houston when he deployed so I could be near some family. I seen Dr. Randall Johnson in the woodlands and between him and my army friend neurologist, I was finally able to get a definitive diagnosis. I had some direction. I was diagnosed like I a said with multiple conditions but the DX of mixed connective tissue disease with overlapping lupus and MS summed up a lot of the problems. They also discovered that I had Anti- phospholipid syndrome and this contributed to my numerous miscarriages and abnormal periods. Usually one Dx has secondary and tertiary dx's as you can see. But if you know what it is you can treat it. And if you find a doctor who can treat you a symptomatically eliminating the obvious you have better results.Auto immune issues can take time dx and may not always show up on a blood test unless you are in an active flare up or the conditions trigger a reaction. For me that was why seeing a surface doctor didn't help. I would go to gyns and explain what was happening and would get the oh we can regulate you by giving you birth control or you need this procedure done ect. All that caused was more problems. Oh your hair is falling out, you need vitamins, only the neuro and rheum docs asked the questions well why does a health teen/adult have vitamin deficiency? Its the questions they aren't asking that you need to ask and things you aren't considering that you need to look closer at. Hope it helps and your daughter is treated with success. 4951

Care for Women is a fairly large practice with several female doctors. As a new patient there is usually a wait to get in  -up to 4-6 weeks so don't be disappointed if your daughter can't be seen right away. If her issue is more hormonal related than pain related and she is under 21 and not "active" with boys yet she might not even need a pelvic exam. 4951
