When we bought our house we were informed that the drain cover in our pool was not to code. We are planning on replacing it and I'm curious if anyone else replaced theirs, is it just a cover I am looking to replace? Or is there more to it? It seems like ours is smaller in diameter than what I'm seeing online. 4951

From what I've seen at my son's pool in Atascocita it is just a larger raised cover that a child couldn't get sucked on to and drown. Most pool supply shops have the legal replacements but you might need to remove the one you have and take it in. The hardest part is removing it as the pool guys strap on a scuba tank which most folks might not have. 4951

Not sure why you would replace it until you need to for some other reason, especially if in the deep end nobody can easily get to anyway.
I had to do the one in my spa when somebody jumped and cracked it. Couple screws and done. I bought them through Amazon for about the third of the Leslie's price. The deep end were replaced when we recoated the pool last year. 4951
