Memorial Hermann is planning to build a 45,000 sq. ft. Convenient Care Center in Kingwood, which should be completed by Fall 2016. The new innovative center will be located at the corner of Kingwood Drive & West Lake Houston Parkway, and will provide access to round-the-clock medical care for Kingwood and surrounding area residents. Read More:http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/atascocita/news/memorial-hermann-announces-plans-for-convenient-care-center-in-kingwood/article_24295bf8-5c02-5b37-9a4d-595105ebd38f.html 4951

I would have thought they'd put it where the new HEB will be. That former apartment complex lot is absolutely enormous. 4951

If I'm not mistaken Memorial Herman has a small medical office near the Kelsey Sebold office on WLH Pkwy either where the Blockbuster used to be or just south of that I wonder why they are putting a big facility like this in the back of Kingwood. Wouldn't it have made more sense over near the hospital? 45000 sq ft is a pretty good size place. The biggest problem I see is the increased traffic at the intersection of KW Dr and WLH Pkwy. Because the dual left turn lanes are on the narrow side they stagger the left turn signals so it takes longer to do entire cycle. I drive north on WLH and turn left onto the westbound lands of KW Dr just about every day and even though there are 2 left turn lanes the green arrow only allows about 6 cars in each lane to get by before going red which is silly since the even extended those left turn lanes to hold more cars. Furthermore the link above says it will be an around the clock medical center, I don't know how these emergency medical centers can break even. We have 2 on KW Drive, one near Specs and the other near Walgreens and the big emergency center next to Kingwood Parc out on the feeder road that is taking longer than the Pharoah's Pyramid to get built. And there is also an emergency care center on LHW Pkwy near the library. 4951

Kingwood will no longer be the same, get ready for the heavy flow of traffic and bad roads. That will likely need increased repairs at the expense of us, current homeowners! They should have put it at 59 north freeway over where Luby's and the other restaurant's , there is plenty of ample room there. 4951

It is not just an emergency care center it is more a convenience center. Making it easier for those of us that need medical attention at times and can not afford to take off work every time. It  will provide one-stop, highly-coordinated access to adult and pediatric primary care, specialty physicians, sports medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient imaging and lab services and a 24-hour emergency room. Is that how I understand it? Or is it just the emergency room that is 24 hr ? 4951

There is no parking. You already have to drive around for 20 min. to go eat. This is just plain dumb!!!!!
They had better put a light there. 4951

Memorial Hermann is buying up a lot of local physicians and changing what insurance plans they accept.

@Stealth83: I don't know but I found out the hard way that some of those smaller emergency clinics might accept your insurance but the Dr. on staff doesn't . About 2 years ago I had a bad ear ache from head cold and it was on a weekend so I couldn't just go see my regular Dr. I went to that clinic across the street from Stein Mart at 5am on Sunday morning. They said they took my BCBS insurance and I saw a Dr. who gave me an exam and a prescription for antibiotics. A few weeks later I find out that the Dr. is an out of network Dr. so I had to pay $300 for seeing him!
