A young black male wearing a white shirt and holding a clipboard (take note of that description) came to my door yesterday. He knew someone was here because the sprinkler was going out front. I've seen this guy before, selling something else door to door. He gave me a spiel about taking responsibility for his kid and working in this heat all for her. (buttering me up) He apparently thinks it is heroic to feed and clothe the kids you bring into the world and doesn't realize it is in fact a parent's obligation to do so. He rattled on until I asked him for the bottom line. He wanted 40 bucks for a "magazine subscription" to benefit under-privileged children. He was quite persistent and asked for $20 when I said no about the $40. He told me most people don't even ask for the magazines, they just donate, like my neighbor Mrs. ___________ on a certain street in Kings Mill. He showed me her personal info - address with her "order" and signature on it. I finally gave him 10 bucks to go away, which I regret terribly since he waited for me to close the door and then he cut my water hose with a pocket knife. Water gushed down my street for about a half hour before I discovered it. The next time he comes to my door, I'm going to take his picture and then post his mug on every mail box out here. My neighbors all have similar stories about this guy and he has been targeting this area for a long while. If he rings your doorbell, just know that he is nothing but a petty criminal/panhandler/vandal. Thanks to this door to door jerk, I ordered a "No Solicitors" sign and I have listened to my very last sales pitch. Who ever has the nerve to ring my doorbell will be directed to re-read the sign. I am fresh out of patience for this kind of thing. I'm done.
@turkeytrax:
Same guy was in my neighborhood doing the same door to door thing.
