Keep them busy/occupied.  Our garage door trim needed sanding, priming, and painting.  Guess who gets to do that?  But it will also provide my daughter with a bit of spending for her trip back to Washington next month.  Son is in charge of mowing and weed eating, in addition to working at Academy this summer.  He is also helping me with taking down a tree in our front yard by delimbing and bundling for garbage pick-up.  Summer reading has always been something we've encouraged them to do as well.  Plenty for them to do - and they still have plenty of free time. 4951

I'm with AggieBandMom- lots and lots of wine. I love my kids but now I know why we fall in love with them as babies- so we don't kill them as teens. I swear there were days I really thought " Someone is gonna die" and the scene from that movie, The Shining of Jack Nicholson with the axe. Yep I was THAT Mom 4951

@AggieBandMom: EXACTLY!!! After my dad made through those years we became best of friends! And she always says Thanks for Being my Parent and not my friend raising me- and thanks for not killing me!

@AggieBandMom: That's how I'm surviving toddlerhood right now. It works well for me and the kids. DH thinks I'm an alcoholic, but that's another story.

Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you. When you are old, nothing else you've done will have mattered as much.It is tough....hang in there.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  I promise. 4951
