I am helping my aunt select a new electric plan.

Any comments to share on Green Mountain?

@Annie: I think that's the one @WskyTngoFxtrt uses... It seems that was the name on that contract he posted on the thread about keeping the house cool... 4951

I don't think it really matters. Centerpoint delivers the energy anyway. Just go to powertochoose and compare rates and billing etc. We currently use Brilliant Energy but recheck it every year for the best rates. 4951

I have had Green Mountain since 2007.  The have one of the higher rates but I have never had an issue with billing or customer service.  I am currently on the average billing and I love it in the summer. 4951

Yes, I have it. Awesome rate and so far no issues. They email your weekly usage and tell you what your estimated monthly bill would end up being. 4951

@fudgiesmom2:

Powertochoose is exactly where we started. For her zip code and usage, they have one of the better rates.

Thanks everybody for your input. 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt:

Reliant does the same thing, one of the major factors as to why I didn't want to change companies, plus I've been with them about thirty years now back to when they were know as Houston Lightening & Power (HL&P). I may consider switching now.

Thanks for that information. 4951

@bubbleyes72:   Funny, you think that would mean something...being a customer for thirty years.  How about I have earned the best rate freaking possible from your company automatically.  Unfortunately its not the case and we are in the same boat.  Time for some energy shopping.
