Our insurance changed and my husband has a cracked tooth. I need to get him to someone as soon as I can. Does anyone have feedback for any of these dentists?Mark McNamaraJulio GaitanWell, I guess that's it! LOL  I'm trying to stay away from the big dental conglomerations, like Carus and Castle.Our insurance is changing AGAIN September 1, but I'd like to not wait that long.Thanks! 4951

I hate finding a new dentist.  It's slim pickings for us with Delta Dental.  I've been looking for a reasonable dentist for uninsured Ds to get a cleaning, called several and it was almost $400 for cleaning, exam and xrays.  Yikes.  I did find a place charging $59.00, I'm almost scared it's so cheap, but we'll give it a shot.  4951

@MarT:

Two good ones if you are willing to drive to cleveland is dr sikes with downtown dental or scott jones with jones family denistry.

Im very picky with referrals so know they are good and reasonable. I pay out of network prices just to use them. They both see kids but scott jones does not use gas or anything so for my daughter we see sikes. Being a dentist about killed my kid, trust me when I say these two dentist are worth a visit...I dig very deep into any dentist I use.

We have been using Carus, but it is almost impossible to get in there with cigna insurance.  We were told it's a 3-6 month waiting period for new patients.  I've gotten everyone in so far except for my son, so I need to call them again.  ARG! 4951

We use Dr. Butler who is back in that small commercial stretch on Cedar Knolls just east of Woodland Hills Dr. We are really happy with him, he is old fashioned and doesn't do anything that is not necessary. Dr. McNamara was my Periodontist which I think is his specialty. Good dentist but not the best bedside manner. He was always kind of quite and didn't ever say much or make me feel comfortable. He wanted to do some really expensive bone graft or something for me and it wasn't covered and I decided if I someday loose a few teeth so be it. 4951

We were going to Kevin Burke and liked him and his office staff, but when my husband had to make changes to his insurance last December, he forgot to make the change that would allow us to still go to Burke. We can switch back at the end of this year but in the meantime, we all need cleanings and hubby has that cracked tooth.Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll probably just pull a name out of a hat and make an appointment. 4951

@Nurse3:

I have United Health Care and similarly, I'm embarrassed to say it's been too long since I've been to the dentist and now I'm considered a new patient. I called Carus (which I've spent lots of money over the years past) a month ago and was told that I have to wait until November. This morning I called the group of dermatologists on Green Oak which are in my insurance group for the first available doctor. They also told me November due to being a new patient. I don't get it!! I have a itchy rash on my chest NOW. I think it is heat rash but I'm not a doctor. Guess I'll go to my family doc and save money too! 4951

Dennis Vaughn is awesome!
I don't have dental insurance and it was one of the cheapest I could find and he does a great job! Its easy to get an appointment and the wait is never long.
I had to get a filling for a hole in my tooth, one place I went wanted a lot, I was only charged around $100 with him. 4951

I absolutely adore the staff at Dr Gallagher...I am a difficult patient and they have all the patience in the world with me. Dr Gallagher is a great dentist and my husband and I could not be happier.As far as a periodontist...stear clear of Dr Gregory, her office is like an advertisement for her...TV flashes her ads and contests.  You are given a bag of dental stuff when you arrive and it is all promotional material...fridge magnet, pen, chap stick,,,,,You ar taken to the exam room and given a lecture about Dr Gregory's training and asked if you have reviewed her website.  I don't give a rats butt about all this promotional stuff....fix my teeth.  Do not give me a lecture, do what needs to be done and move on.  Plus she is very young....How much experience can she have after all her schooling.  I prefer that all my doctors be at least 45.  Would I go back?  No money in the world could get me to return to that office.    4951

I also went to Dr McNamara and found him likeable and mild mannered.  He never got back to me on what he needed to do to my teeth.  After my visit with Dr Gregory I think it may be time to touch base with Dr McNamara. Dr Gregory is a walking advertisement for her practice.  I would not be surprised if she had her website painted on her car! 4951

@KingwoodDotCom:  I just don't like chains for dentistry.  I want to know my dentist whose name is on the door, not just some warm body he/she has hired to do the work.  That's where "mom and pop" locally owned business is a MUST for me.
