Ok KDC peeps. DW and DD found this little guy in Elm Grove. He was barely hanging on, with bad mosquito and flea bites. Just when they got him eating and playing a large cyst or bite showed up last night. The cyst exploded and green puss went everywhere. Any ideas on who would be able to take this little guy and give him the help he needs? We don't want to see him put down but we can't take on anymore animals.

@sooner34: I talked to DH and he said that while alarming, most of the time, it is not cause for concern.  Just make sure if the wound is open, it is clean and does not get infected.

@RogueHippEE:

He's a really happy fella for what he's been through. The wife's male cat is not happy at all that this little guy is in his house. The dogs could care less. I've reached out to LMN, I hope they can take him in. 4951

@sooner34: We kept the abandoned kitten we found. Out of the 5 rescues that I contacted about her, only Best Friends Furever responded. You may want to give them a try. It's really hard to get help for kittens. You can put Neosporin on the kitten's booboos, just try not to let it lick it off.

Well we took the little fella to our family vet. She said he was for sure bitten by something and the best bet was to euthanize him. They could of amputated the leg but they advised against it. Now I have to break the news to my DD. She worked so hard to nurse him back from near death when she found him. 4951

Don't just strike him down on the opinion of a vet. Keep him comfortable and dress the wound frequently. If nature takes its course so be it, but at least give the little guy a chance. 4951

We did that. When we got to the vet with him he was running a 107* temp and breathing was fading fast. The bite wound was rapidly spreading faster then we could keep it medicated and dressed.

So sad, but not all injured animals are able to recover. My kids would be devastated. Emoticon 4951
